Hi I would like to ask the TIS2000 with virtual technologe works? Will it be able to reprogram from a damaged ECU?

Depends on the damage, what I do know is that you have to be able to read the ECU or modules before you can program them. If you can't get in and read the software you can NOT reprogram them.

An industry change in protocol from OBD II to Controller Area Network (CAN) is ongoing. In order to perform diagnostics on a vehicle that uses the CAN interface, you will need the Tech 2 and a CAN diagnostic interface module. The CANdi module connects between the Tech 2's diagnostic link cable and the OBD adapter. Once the CANdi module is connected, it can be used on all GM vehicle applications, even those vehicles using other platforms such as OBD I and OBD II.

Thank you for the explanation. I do not have the CANdi module when I use the Tech 2 on my 2007 Trailblazer and I wonder if having it would give me more options. I was looking for a way to turn off the key-in-ignition bell but could not find it.

What did you need to do to connect your USB , Was there a setting that was needed to be chosen while installing to select communication through USB opposed to connecting directly to a port since I don’t have one

I'm sorry, I read your comment numerous times but I don't really know what you asking for. I guess you are asking what adapter I used to connect RS232 to USB??? I sure don't know, when I bought mine (a long time ago) I was told it would only work with XP, so I have XP on my dedicated Tech2 laptop. Sorry

When you was reprogramming the passenger side door mirror the reason it showed you a failed error code it was because the first time you hooked your tech 2 up to your vehicle you didn’t have the tech 2 connected completely as I could see where your tech 2 plug was cock eyed crooked an so that’s the reason you first got a failure to reprogram error code so I thought I’d point that out for you so you would be able to review your video and you will see what I’m Talking about it not being plugged in completely so that’s why it first said failure to update error code so please review your 2nd video an you’ll see what I’m talking about.
