Jeeeez. This old guy has crazy flexibility and athleticism. I love ITF taekwondo. Very fluid and it still retains its original combative nature. It hasnt been ruined by the Olympics.

Wow ! All this is just Great . His roundhouse at the 6:40 mark or so is unbelievably fast ,especially for a man his age or any age for that matter. REAL INSTRUCTOR !

Watching these guys doing high kick make me wanna learn from them . I think any Martial Arts are good Martial Art, no need to talk shit about other Martial Art. It’s how you train to become a good fighter . It’s a sport and it’s fun .

Exactly to the point man. It all depends on your teacher & whether he/she is capable to pass to his students the love of the martial art he/she is expert to. If you have teachers mixing all kinds of arts, in order to impress their students, then they are lost from the 1st day!!! I love TKD ITF because i had a great teacher & great teamates !!

i'm practicing traditional shotokan Karate and i agree ... all the Martial Arts are good ... But i don't agree about the fact they are ... we call them "Martial Arts" just because they are NOT sport ... unfortunately, a great business of competitions, tournaments, trophy, etc has been built many many decades ago and it's still developing, alàs ... But personally speaking, i was never interested in competitions ... i'd rather focus on self-improvement, loyalty, and of course self-defence, real (not sport) fighting. That's why i hope that Karate will never included to Olympic Games ... there's already enough "drift" to sport's direction ! Best regards from Italy

I never did taekwondo, but it was always something I wanted to try, also because my older brother always told me Teakwondo is the only right sport for me because of my flexible Jean Claude Van Damme legs mixed with Bruce Lee style 😊, but i just didn't have the chance for it. I hope I can get the opportunity to try it before I get 45.

Estudamos que a Flexibilidade é uma capacidade que pertence a aptidão física relacionada a saúde e ao esporte e que a perdemos com a idade. Mas com o treinamento deste senhor pudemos perceber que ainda que ele tenha perdido um pouco dessa capacidade, ele ainda a tem muito superior do que a maioria da população jovem do mundo. The old school ITF black belts all move with the same precision, control, and dexterity. The people learning ITF today don’t want the same level of discipline and hard training. They don’t want that smoke. My instructor once told me if we trained the way they did, there would be lawsuits.

With that said, ITF is more of a hobby for most westerners. There is no ‘Do’ or Mu-Do. It’s just not a way of life.

As for kicking. There was a STRONG sense of conformity. Nobody’s kick looked ‘different’. The artistic form was emphasized in the kick. It must not only be strong but look beautiful in execution. Hence, the artistic form is de-emphasized today. The art is dying unfortunately.
