there is no one like Jimmy Roselli. His voice was so powerful and on the money, always. He was the best!

I was very fortunate to see Jimmy Roselli at the London Palladium approximately twenty years ago. In my own opinion Sinatra may have had a better on stage personality but when it came to sheer vocal ability, Roselli was head and shoulders above him.

Except for the feud, you can't mention Roselli and Sinatra in the same breath. What a brilliant instrument this guy had!!! I shook his hand once. I am a BIG fan, especially of his Italian stuff. Anybody reading this...find "LUSINGAME" right here on KZbin and give it a listen. And his Neapolitan accent was perfect. That's one main reason why the Italians loved him.

Got the chance to see Jimmy back in the 90's, such a shame how Sinatra did him dirty, out of jealousy in my opinion. Sinatra's Mother loved his Italian singing and Frank couldn't sing a note in Italian 😮

Old brown eyes is underrated my grandpa put me on to him what a voice what a guy sad Sinatra had blackballed him
@Ano09873 жыл бұрын
Same here my grandfather told me about him also, have a feeling Sinatra was jealous and angry at him due to him having a much more amazing voice and turning down Sinatra’s mother offer of singing at an event.

Thank you for sharing this. In a snap shot it shows us all what a talented, wise, and non-revengeful man he was. He truly did it his way. Willing to stand up for his beliefs in the face of adversity.

Even though there was animosity between Sinatra and himself he respected him, it shows when they discussed his passing

He said in another interview that Dolly Sinatra requested that he sing at her birthday party one year. They knew each other since he was born. He told the person relaying the request to tell Dolly to call him, which she never did. That was taken by Sinatra as a refusal to sing for his mother, which he never did refuse. Just for that, Sinatra turned against him.

Sinatra wanted Jimmy to sing at his mother's birthday but Jimmy couldn't because he was working that night. Sinatra's people pushed but Jimmy held fast and that was what caused Sinatra to have Jimmy blackballed. I know this because Jimmy told me. He was a gentle and warm man.
