I was at his concert in AT&T stadium last week, absolutely incredible live performer. There's no one quite like Ed Sheeran live. His show is easily one of the best, and watching him quite literally construct the songs in front of you layer by layer is breathtaking.

I was watching this documnetary with my best friend ( we met in our ehlers danlos syndrome support group) and both said we wouldnt be ok if ww lost one another and promised we werent goi g anywhere . Sadly she passed away 2 days later. My heart is completely shattered.

I like both artists and I think new musicians could admit their influences once they learn of similar tracks previously recorded. Perhaps if Ed Sheeran and Robin Thicke had given Marvin Gaye's estate an acknowledging, respectful nod and an appreciative good faith offer regarding both Blurred Lines and Thinking Out Loud, this whole situation may have been able to have been resolved internally. The influences are crystal clear.

Why you do him like that? Pleeeze!!! I had stopped watching TV and listening to the radio for years before the quiet of covid became too much. So I began searching youtube for music I came up on. From time to time they would drop something on me. Hence, Tennessee whiskey by Chris Stapleton. I was moving before he began singing. You know why I instantly loved that song? Has same intro as Etta James I'd Rather Go Blind. I went back and looked it up. My late uncle schooled me in music so her name came fast. I love both tunes but Tennessee whiskey is my favourite song since 2020. I also laughed at the lawsuit over Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars. My niece thought I should know since I was playing it for her son daily. I didn't know Bruno Mars but I knew Uptown Funk. Yet the only other video on KZbin with this song is by Michael Jackson. My two year old nephew who I wanted to know our musical heritage, not simply what we made but what we listened to. He watches Uptown Funk every day. He has a favourite calypso too and they both set him off. I can't argue with technical stuff and I know good money gets best lawyers in the US. Moreso, musicians like to play homage to the greats. There are reggae versions of Whiter shade of pale, I am I said, the gambler. I saw them all during covid. I understand the pain of black musicians. No one likes to get robbed time after time. But selective outrage leaves a distaste in the mouth. For instance, people who were up in arms over the war in Ukraine but said nothing when the president of Syria bombed his own homeland to maintain power and destroyed major infrastructure and killed too many people. Kill - a word replaced by unalive on tik tok. I play a word game that doesn't use slavery or rape as words. I was puzzled at first but after several attempts I accepted it. Never stop pursuing good but stop cherry picking fights. Other people around the world see these inconsistencies as hypocrisy. That's like expecting me a dog lover by far to care about ads about protecting birds from cats and dogs from abuse, when politicians are taking money out of certain communities and defunding the education of too many. Calling the black footballer a monkey(soccer) but wanting him to deliver in the league championship or the world cup. First world diplomats fund surveys of our school children secretly and then use results to tarnish the reputation of our country. Quid pro quo for foreign exchange. Hmmm. Had a scandal already this year where civil servants entered primary schools and conducted surveys without teachers or principals knowing the content thereof. As someone who left school system in 2007 this foolishness in 2023 just makes you suck your teeth. This has been going on for years. What is my point? Too many people in public or private are picking fights which lose the confidence of the people.. We see it. We discuss it. We just don't have the energy to fight word games with political and social leaders. We don't have investigate journalism in my country but the dirt on our politicians is in every bar. Yeah. We got more rum shops than churches. We laugh at everything because tomorrow is work and survival in a tired world. Peace.
