Why front wider for descending ?

I was really annoyed cause carrying a 2.1 in front and 2.22 on back thinking is very narrow but actually watching this makes me comfortable. Been scrolling for hours to reach this . I'm not even doing those hard descends I'm carrying saddles so I'm okey now with my 2.1 and 2.22

2.25 front and back hardtail for me. I've seen people ride up to 2.6 on a full sus for xc.

My older xc hardtail has 29x2.20en 25 mm wide Wheels and my newer xc hardtail has 29x2.40 and 29x.235 on 30 mm wide Wheels.

i ride a 29" fully with 2.6 assegai front (for the grip) & 2.4 DHRII rear (for the breaking power) - Assegai MaxGrip & DHR II MaxTerra compound. this is the way.

Don't know anyone that runs that combo for xc...heavy trail and enduro, certainly.

@@ehess8845 Not that uncommon actually its one of the secret combos lots of pro's ride. Assegai is THE best grip tire, & DHRII is the best one for braking power, tirethreadwise

@@Liqweed1337 Respectfully disagree...show me one xc pro that runs this combo. I do agree that these tires offer far better grip than the typical xc tire, but they are far too heavy for anyone who races xc.
