Jim, you do it reversed from how I was taught at aviation school in the Navy back in '71. Put the grease in the palm of your hand and start scraping the grease with the back of the bearing, a little bit at a time, until you see grease come out the top between the rollers. This way you know the inside of the bearing is full without air pockets. Then coat the outside of the bearing..... Just another way to do it!

Hey, you are right, my grandad taught me hat too, I did a video on replacing rear wheel bearings where I pointed out how to do that. In this case, I really liked the graphite grease for this application but I didn’t have any more. The cv was not dry or contaminated so I kept the still on duty grease and packed in a little more of the other grease I had and called it good. You are right, you would flush the old out installing new in the “hand pack” method. I shortcutted… thank you for pointing that out, I’ll include that in the next video

Guys, packing grease by hand really is kinda silly if you have a packer…. Bottom line get grease all the way thru the cages. I’m sorry but let’s not bring judgements of others to the Ranch. Folks, get grease all the way thru your bearing .

I just bought a 78 from a auction and my front rear passenger side wheel points in towards the driver side about 4” I haven’t moved it yet got it running just wondering what it can be

Sounds like it may have hit a curb? Possible bent spindle? You need to get that wheel off and check. Be sure to lift the vehicle properly or you may cause other damage else where. Jim has a video on how to properly lift and support vehicle.

Front right tire often hits curbs, most common tire on a coach to hit a curb Jim says, I’m guessing it’s a bent spindle
