After two years I’m still happy with and using the dash mount. It’s been solid, no squeaks or vibrations.

Thanks for the video. I ordered one of these today for my Sierra 2500HD. It’s a little different but close to the one you have. They call “Rubigrid”. The lower portion fits the entire bottom section so you don’t have to center it. Also, it didn’t include mounting tape. Probably because it fits so well now and it mounts with 6 bolts vs 4. Also, I left the rubber cover on it. I just drilled right through it and it’s SOLID. Thanks again for the video and instruction. Good stuff!

I have the same setup (fixed tray, not removable) in a 22 Silverado. I left the OEM rubber tray cover (makes it more snug), inserted the mount base and used some cutout rubber (bicycle tire tube) as shim between the sides of the mount nase and tray. That means no drilling for the base screws. No screws to undo when I want to remove the base mount and make adjustments to the attachment accessories! The mount holds solid even on rough roads.

How much trouble did you have getting the shim in the crack to take out the piece? My 7mm bolt is further down than yours is and that came out ok but I can not get the darn pry thing in there to pull it from the clips.

I just read others with the same problem. I guess that piece doesn't come out of all models.

It was a little tough getting it in there and it’s not stiff enough. I actually edited out my first try, it was pretty embarrassing. Lol

Yours doesn’t come out. Figured you knew by now but they changed it, if it’s in the middle it won’t come out

Just like new. I mount a GoPro and rear camera screen on it quite often. No problems.

Just a note for anyone with a Silverado. I have a 21 RST and the bolt in mine is in the FRONT of the "tray" and said "tray" IS NOT REMOVABLE on mine. I have no idea why this is. And I have no idea why there's a screw there if the tray doesn't come out. So I don't see this working on my truck

It'll work, mine isnt removable either, it came with the 4 inserts and screws and works just fine, i installed it 2 weeks ago and have a 10" tablet & phone holder, aswell as the GoPro mount

Put tape on first, then drill holes.

Hey ya'll. I just order this Rubigrid insert for my 2019 RST. I agree that having the top slot open and exposing the mounting hole would look ugly, so I found a couple of inserts on Amazon made by a company called TufSkinz. The product is called TufSkinz Dashboard Top Cubby Foam Inserts. You can use just the top one or you can affix the bottom insert over the grid of the Rubigrid, minus what you're mounting, to avoid dust and debris from getting down inside it. Just my two cents. God bless.

The manufacturer should provide a template for their mount. For $86 bucks, come on!

Looks ok but then after removing the tray you have that ugly screw hole left there without being able to put the cover tray back in
@SmokyMountainWeekend Жыл бұрын
You mount the system to the tray and replace it and the screw. You can’t even see the screw hole when you’re finished and sitting in the seat.
