@@ThelilantjrTransmission is good on QX80 with 2.93 axle ratio for mpg purposes like Armada. But in international markets, the axle ratio is between 3.5 to 4 axle ratio and will climb a wall with terrible mpg once you throw in off road tires.

The compartment you try to put your phone in is designed for sunglasses, which works well because it’s lined with a soft fabric. My wife actually really likes that being there instead of up above.

Traded my 19 youkon for 21 qx. Youkon stayed in the shop. All of the bells and whistles I paid for never worked. Might as well have been driving a 1990 model. So far very happy with qx.

I'm leasing the 2021 QX80 4WD Sensory, and I actually like it. Yeah, it's been outdated, but it is more reliable than the American and European SUVs. The Lexus LX SUV is the king of reliability with off-road capability.

Actually the QX80 is a Patrol with a tuxedo (mall edition). But in international markets, Patrols actually go neck and neck with LC and actually better in on road or off road performance with more aggressive axle ratio, front and rear lockers, Hydraulic suspension (HBMC works similar to a LX Hydraulic suspension), more power, more torque, more cargo space, more ground clearance, etc and yet 1000s cheaper.

@@Geknight lmao I’ve had chevys last that long 😂 Also I own a Nissan, and it’s a garbage car. The CVT is terrible, the interior rattles and is one of the cheapest built interiors that I’ve seen. Also had to have part of the exhaust replaced at 30k miles because of a bad oxygen sensor. Not to mention now both front door lock mechanisms have failed rendering the keyless entry useless.

What’s crazy is you can pick up a good 2018 QX80 for practically almost nothing. They surely don’t keep their value so if you’re looking to buy a used one, they are there for half the price of a new one

My current QX80 is my 4th one. There is no other vehicle which offers the same value for money in its class. The only issue I had with the previous one was the catalytic converter going bad. Its a known issue with Nissan trucks and they haven't done anything to improve.

I owned (3) GM dealerships. Was successful with it. Sold them a year ago and retired. I've NEVER bought a car in my life and I'll do so in 2 years and I will NOT by a GM car. GM's warranty policies punished dealers who actually tried to fix problems and take time to diagnose. There's no way in hell I'm going thru that as a customer. So even though I've had Yukon Denalis for 20 years - - a new one every 6 months - I'll be going Honda, Acura, or Lexus (depending on how my investments pan out in retirement lol)

that compartment in the GMC is for your smokes, and most shift levers now are electronic , they aren't physically connected to the transmission so going to buttons is cheaper and saves a lot of space.

At least the one in the GMC is easy to use...unlike the electronic console shifters where you have to push or pull the lever ever so slightly to put it in drive or reverse. Cadillac🙄. If they really want to do electronic shifters, they should learn from Ford (not Lincoln) or Honda.

Qx80 looks so good on the outside especially in pearl white, but the cluster being super old, the trans…..they need to put the 9 speed auto, digital cluster, and aluminum window/lock switches so u don’t feel like your in a Nissan. It’s their flag ship, so if they want to compete with the big luxury domestic brands, they deff need to redo the whole interior, touch the outside a big even those it’s only 3 years old as far as the redesign.

Great video. I’ve been watching you guys for over 8 years now. Wow. Anyway both are great looking trucks. I personally picked up a 2018 Sequoia, almost new and not nearly what these cost new. I took advantage of the fact that is not a popular truck, doesn’t have all the unnecessary crap, that eventually will break, and it’s solid as a rock!! Love the space and the V8 it’s awesome. All of these are thirsty but if you need a big truck for moving around people and things, for me the sequoia did it. And I can seat 8 people comfortably. If you need a big suv, look around for certified ones.

When car shopping…avoid the folding running boards….my old 2013 Navigator had them and they always jammed, especially in snow…we ended up just keeping them out, but then they go out so far that they get run into curbs and get damaged. I like My QX80 running boards that stay put…

Funny I put 275/60/R20 s wrangler ATs on my wife's kid hauler and mall brawler QX80. We live up in Lake Tahoe so it is a snow machine as well, it rock and rolls through the deep snow and on the old muddy steep log trails.

On the QX80, you don't have to hold down the button to fold down the third row. You only have to push it once and it folds completely automatically. Nice review, though!

The harsh truth is that GM reliability with major drivetrain components has dropped so low that owning a Yukon out of warranty is a big risk. The QX80 is so old its shameful, but the engines and transmissions in these things actually last a good long time. If you are just leasing for 3 year, definitely buy the Yukon. But if you are buying a long term vehicle to tow/haul with, buy a used 2015 Armada for less than $30K and get you'll still everything the new QX80 has.

Im guessing you didn’t even watch the video. The GMC has a less techy interior than the redesigned qx80. I actually prefer the 2019 and older versions. Who wants to fumble through a touch screen to change the climate control or turn on the heated seats? Oh, some one who calls it a dinosaur perhaps? Trade functionality for looks? No thanks.

Not a great comparison, should’ve thrown a Denali for this. The qx is unchanged, vile gas mileage. They need to update it otherwise they may have the same customers that cling to the brand as a statement, as opposed to what you’re actually getting. The Denali ultimate blows it away for sure.

Push button transmissions arent even new or the future. They are very much the past. The Edsels had them in the 50s and i believe a chrysler 300 had a set too

YOU ARE THE ONLY REVIEWER WHO SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THOSE DAMN SHIFT BUTTONS ! THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A HANDLE ON THE CONSOLE OR THE STEERING COLUMN !

That Infiniti is so damn outdated. GMC wins all day long. Even the old gen Yukon was more modern than that Infiniti.

What use are all of those buttons if they stop working after 6m and the deal cant fix. Best option is to get tried and true technology.
