Thanks so much Stephen for making this video. I googled for exactly this info ages ago but had given up and was about to give my 463-34/01 away to let someone else get it serviced. Lo and behold you uploaded this today so I will now keep this machine and dedicate it to sewing bindings on my projects. All the best from Northern Ireland!

My girlfriend and I spent a month traveling around Ireland and Northern Ireland back in 87', beautiful countries, beautiful friendly people. I noticed almost every pub had a picture of John Kennedy and Jesus behind the bar, shown the close ties our countries have towards each other.

@@gmcxm211 ok another question because google is giving me to much information I know the needle size is 135x5 what's the biggest thread size I can use ?
@gmcxm2114 ай бұрын
@@soldiercoleone A lot of determining factors. The thread clearance between the bobbin case and the bobbin case support. The size of the hole in the needle plate. The 135x5 needle as far as doing a quick research, the biggest needle I can find is a size 23. That size of needle can handle a tex105 thread, now that's not saying the 463 you're buying can sew with that size thread. All machines are different to the point, my 463 It will sew tex92 thread but it maxes out the tension and the stitching looks like crap. Tex69/70 thread is the max I will use because the stitch quality still remains good and its not maxing out the machine. Now all my thread is bonded nylon, a tight spun thread. I don't know what it will do with a coarse spun thread like blue jean thread. You probably could go with a bigger size. What I do in these situations when I get a different machine, I get a small spool of thread that I intend to use in the machine to test it.
