@@AussiePeter I played in my first one last year with all of us being 14-20 HCP. We had a bogey free 3 under and came in 3rd to 5 under. Missed a couple putts inside 8’ which cost us. It’s a charity for a POW that all my dads college wrestling buddies play in so it’s not the best players, but the funnest day I’ve ever had golfing.

All I want Steve to ever remember is his swing is more consistent when he slows his backswing and maintains good tempo. Then he gives a chance for the flex of the club to work with his swing and probably increases the club speed.

Stephen, you have to take the club away with your left hand. Pinky, ring finger & middle finger. At the top of your swing transfer the weight of the club to your right three fingers, pinky, ring finger & middle finger. For anyone who struggles with the takeaway, It’s a one piece takeaway, using those three fingers then transferring the club weight to the right hand on the way down. Grip is 100% the most important part of your swing.

It's always the par 3's. When you watch pros play 200-yd-plus par 3's, no one is outside 20 feet, even senior pros. And almost always on the green. We lowly amateurs have to find ways to make our chip shots easy. Mulligans on long bendy putts and 80 yard pitch shots are just a crap shoot.
@jp82cards30

on 200+ yd par 3's pros miss the greens all the time, maybe in the highlights reel they're all close.. even in the current Zurich Classic several of the 2 man teams had both players hit it in the water on a par 3

I think you might be tucking your right shoulder down too quickly causing you to rotate early and pull it left Steve, if you keep your right shoulder squarer (let your arms come through a little before following through with the shoulder, think youre trying to hit the ball up but youre pulling ut up and left when trying to give it the big welly lol) you will be hitting it where youre feet are pointing and hitting it far. Hope this tip helps but if you watch all your drives (i slowed the hole 13 drive down) in slow-mo you'll maybe see what i mean, you should try to get 2 angles when filming your drives for a really good breakdown (maybe bring your ball back in your stance a little might help so youre not stretching to it causing you to rotate before contacting it). Its just a fraction of a bawhair out so shouldnt take too much to address lol.
