I’m 1400 and I also 😢😂 lol never dedicated as much time to chess as other things. I enjoy watching a good game, but it’s not life for me and I doubt it is for you either. I know I’d disrespect Hikaru in a 100m sprint/arguably all other competitive sports for example, so I’m not too hurt that he’d destroy me at chess.

USCF says top 57%, being generous, maybe the top half of players. I'd say an 1100 is just getting into intermediate, starting to get serious and studying. Down this path, now they care about their rating, which is bad because it goes up and down a lot even at fairly high levels. It's not fun to think about because you want to feel you are getting better, but this is where the game starts to get very deep and complex. You have advanced tactics, gambits, exchange sacrifices, etc. It takes even talented players time to improve, it's a large amount of information to internalize.

It could be argued that, although it is fun content, this might be a waste of time for both players. I wouldn't even want to talk about chess with HIkaru until I reach at least 1800. I would not even want to be in the same room unless I'm 1600, I have love and respect for this game. My dad taught me when I was eight, we lost him early. I'm casual and unrated, but I've got some time on my hands these days....the Marshall club is not too far away from me. So yeah maybe a little disrespect is in order, 1100s have a long ways to go.

I have tried to give advice to all these top of the line players, thinking that hikaru needed a morale boost also, but I haven't played chess in sometime and got something like brain damage in the the last decade, besides that if hikaru could hear me I'd be like randy man savage during cream of the crop speach, and say "I challenge you hikaru", I watched all the hikaru no go series too, but I myself I promise could of easily thought lighting fast and played 3 minute games and I knew for sure I could of beat hikaru once, I think it's sad I just found out it took 12 minute game to beat 1300 bot in like 7 tries, Fred on chess friends, an by then it had gave me a queen 1 game and probably definitely threw the match. At 10 minutes in they ask hikaru why he's so positive and I always remember him saying 'why would you do the same thing over and over', and just didn't like that he included he's a democrat with that. I could say what he does is more impressive than sd guy gambler, because hikaru not only plays only chatbots during the show but he talks as if they're people also, and yea he's right whats not to be happy about l, we are very fortunate, and etc if u knew that the ai wasn't conscious or continually self aware and also programed goals then ceases to exist, seeing it has no golem that its attached to it has no way of continuing on, including humanity is inhumane, and going into a daydream existence is a loophole I experienced when I first came self aware as a human I also noticed a demention that I could slip back into a certain way lest be burdened with a boring trivial reality, and I succeeded in doing so, my mother said I didn't say anything till I was 3 she was a satanist amongst other things.
