You know what would be sick? If we had team battles on 1 single chess board where each player from either team takes turns making a move (during which is the _only time they can see the board_ ) round-robin style but they aren’t allowed to see what move each opponent or team member makes _nor can they see the board until it’s their turn again._ That would make for some Kramnik levels of interesting content and gameplay.

I'm disappointed that Hikaru didn't take Candidates seriously enough. No one would have complained with a 2-3 week gap in his social media.. If he put his heart into prepping for candidates. Hikaru is squandering his talent and it is extremely disappointing that he hasn't even challenged for the title so far.

He literally used his talents to be one of the best content creators out there all while being one of the top players in the world. Two different worlds, and he's still on top on both. I don't see any other top player doing that to the degree he has.

From my perspective, I think content creation is like a raft in the turbulent seas of the chess world. Being a pro athlete requires a significant amount of your mental capacity. The memes are his way of blowing off steam, returning to his “zen” mindset, where he can find quickly get back into his groove. Imagine having writer’s block, but having to complete your magnum opus by the end of the day. If you don’t have a reliable method of finding your center and delivering results in spite of the drowning emotions that come from the external and internal pressure, you won’t survive. All conjecture of course… But as an artist, I think I have picked up a bit of how he approaches his own artistic journey. He’s definitely someone I admire.

@@Lucky9_9 I admire Hikaru too. I believe he is a better chess player than he lets himself to be. What he does is good as a creative..but he is also a phenomenal chess player..It doesn't have to be either or. Hikaru needs to find that balance. He can be a creative through most tournaments..but candidates and WC are moments where he needs to focus on the greater purpose. Only Hikaru can decide where his balance lies... My argument is that he is easily surrendering to the cheaper result...

Kramnik and the emotional loss in the Candidates would put anyone in a lot of stress and they would have every right to feel under the water. All things considered, if the only thing Hikaru is doing differently is falling to the pressure of money and streaming sponsored gambling he is handling his current situation exceptionally well.

Real question tough, because I don't understand this: Kramnik accuses Hikaru of cheating based on statistics, but does he takes into cosinderation his streaming and his uploads? Hikaru not only streams every single game that he plays, but he even explains and argues the reason behind every single move that he does.. I mean he literally shows you the games being played and the reasoning behind the moves being chosen by him and his opponent also. So how is Kramnik dealing with this? The "statistics" Kramnik uses at this point basically are only meant to praise Hikaru's talent.
