If you ever get to go to alaska, it's quite fun for a few days. Got to go fishing and with the spare fish we caught, the local fisherman showed us a neat trick where we tossed it in the air where it was caught by bald eagle. My sister went to see the infamous whale tail lift above the water. Plenty of cheap seafood and fantastic scenic walk in a huge wildlife park.

I've been binge watching these. But I'm curious why 3 months ago Hikaru lost against a 2300 and then complained extensively that he had a new account (3 days old) and that he wasn't a true 2300. Isn't that exactly what he's doing in this speedrun?

24:37 didn't white just blunder a bishop/knight? Or is there something I'm missing? Take the knight with the bishop and either white takes the bishop and loses it's bishop to queen or escapes with bishop and you escape with bishop as well.

White takes rook with bishop and theoretically TY for the exchange. Nxd8 intermezzo doesn't work because white can take f3 with queen. However Black has other intermezzo, though i doubt you asking about it, with Bh5 after which white has to take on c7 with queen which ends up with 2 minor pieces vs rook and pawn for black or if white is smarter plays Qe6+ Kxd8 and super strong g4! which collects Bh5 bishop due to inability of black playing Qg4 as Rd1+ is mate in 3. So if you take on f3 you either lucky and trade rook + pawn for 2 minors or you losing exchange and have lost position. Well it's not that Hikaru choice was much better =D After what you suggested it's like +6 while after Rh8 it's... +5 =D However much better practical chances overall unless... opponent won't find g4 than your suggestion is much better cuz its immediately equalizes. I would go for Bxf3 without second thought as i feel tactical skirmish there is better than being at 26:05 down a whole rook after h4! with lead up being all easy moves for white while you had to do some magic in opposite to not allowed it which Naka didn't ^^ Shame for cherry, he had rook + 3 pawns up against Naka with 40 seconds on the clock and butchered it in 1 move. My guess is you missed there whole universe ^^ Curious if I'm right.

@@Melichorak At least your intuition is very good as it was crucial moment. I also stopped video immediately even though i had seen Bxd8 and both intermezzos but had to see what's going on after g4. I'm not that fast xddd My inner senses were telling me to take f3 with bishop even though it seemed like it doesn't work. I checked therefore with the engine and I was shocked it's actually already dead lost for black xd Felt worse but not sleeping with the fishes if you know what I mean. All in all I feel your move was better than Hikaru's though probably worse than Rd3 trying to somehow hang on. You maybe didn't realize why it was better but somewhere deep inside sits good tactician which you should pull out into the daylight. At first it's always intuition before you sees various crazyness.
