Why didn't Naka play Rxe2 followed by Nc3 to win a piece at 34:14?
@abdullahalmosalami23735 жыл бұрын
@@jonasglaser1884 What do you mean Rd8+? The bishop is blocking and white rook controls d8. So after Rxe2, Rxe2, Kc3 forking both rooks, there are no checks with the rooks, and if Rd8, then just Rxd8 and again black is down a rook. In fact, I should say all the way back at 33:49 there was this threat still.
@jonasglaser18845 жыл бұрын
Oh, I was talking about the position after 34:14. I thought that was what you were reffering to. There, it wouldn't work, because the Knight could be pinned. By the way: Knight moves are written with an N, King moves are written with a K. :)

Naka was not good at guessing Nepo's moves throughout this session like he usually is. Still very good stuff, but I noticed Naka incorrectly anticipated Ian's moves pretty frequently. Often he was guessing moves that he himself might play- aggressive moves and the like- but Ian was not really on his wavelength in terms of the moves chosen. And this was not just once or twice, it was happening from beginning to end. Interesting. Anyway, great match. Not surprising to see Nakamura winning against even other super GM's in blitz, he's the best in the world.
