I'm so at Thirds side... knowing exactly how he feels. I was around 14 years old as I noticed that my feelings for my best friend starting to change. I was so confused, felt so weird, that it attended almost one year to understand that I'm in love to him. But I was so afraid of being rejected by him that I never dare to tell him. Now, at the age of 57, I know that their is only one way for me to have a chance for a happy live: Being honest to my own feelings! Being rejected is one of the most painfull experience to take in life. But it clears the air and after a while it'll give you the opportunity to start again. And please trust me: It's much better than asking yourself for more than 40 years how life would be if you dared to tell.

Many of us probably has similar story like this. My story, We were best friends from highschool and went to the same university, same program, same department, just different class. I realized i loved him when we were in uni, had to watch him pining over a girl for 4 years. Had to watch how he looked happy everytime he heard the girl he loved broke up with her boyfriend, or to make him smile when he sad because the girl got a new boyfriend. This girl knew that my best friend had a feeling for her but the girl rejected him with 'lets be friend' situation. This situation ended when the girl finally married with other people. I accompanied him to her wedding. A year later he confessed that he loved me. At that time, my parents, like many asian, tried to match me with their friend's son that i didn't like. I guess that's what triggered him to confess to me. I was really happy at that time cause 8 years of friendship, 4 years of pining and longing, my love finally no longer one-sided. We just last for 3 years as lover though. Cause i felt everytime life wasn't kind to us, it was always me who wore the shining armor, wreck my brain and exhausted every effort s to solve our every problems. Somehow it numbed my love for him cause i felt so tired facing his childishness. For me its ok if your best friend is childish, but for life partner? I don't think i can handle that so we broke up. We back as best friend again and he tried several times to persuade me be his lover again but i really couldn't. In the eve of his wedding he texted me that he still loved me, i told him to not say or doing something crazy and said we just not meant to be. We still friend until now. His wife know i was also his ex, but she kind of OK with me, probably because she know I don't have feeling anymore for his husband.
