I think she deserved the position long time back. She took charge and worked hard for the company after her brother's death. And her brother passed away at a very young age. Yet grandpa never even considered her. He always favored his son and later on his son's son(though I don't blame him for giving extra care to Veekit who had no parents and also lost the ability to see faces) Parents showing partiality among kids can lead to the less favored one acting bitter. In her case she went extreme. I don't know if forgiving and forgetting the things she did is easy but maybe this will finally be a reason for her to change
