like a lot of people, I used to watch a lot of minecraft youtubers, primarily, DanTDM and Yogscast. Ofc, I also watched DanTDM play the original version of this map when he initially played it. I was very interested in said video, to see how he responded to horror, (because I was watching gaming youtubers like Markiplier and Pewdiepie at the time and their responses were very funny). I don't mean to come off as rude, because I'm not trying to belittle the work put into this, I'm just kind of confused. What exactly was the point of porting/remaking this map in Source? Is the original unavailable in some way (creator took it down, updates broke it, etc.) Was this just a mapping exercise? Did Xephyr think the original map was so good that it was put into Garry's Mod so people who don't have Minecraft can experience it? All of these are completely valid reasons, to be clear. There's nothing wrong with any of these, or any other explanation. I'm just trying to figure out which one it is, because it's no small feat to remake someone else's map in a completely different engine/game and I'm wondering why the effort was taken.

Can somebody help me piece together the story of this map? The way everything is delivered is a bit hard for me to understand. From what I can see, everything that happens, might just be him reliving events, but with his mind twisting things around. While the writing isn't great, there is still enough information for us to go through, to at least understand what is going on. With the information of the main character's potential mental state, the keys, the TV, the layout of this guy's house, and the events that we see, some of what we see in the map has a high chance of being his mind warping his memories. With all of the information, there is one question that we need to answer before we can come to any conclusion: what parts actually happened, and what parts are his mind? (Yes, I am probably overthinking this, but trying to piece this together might be interesting) Anyways, I have to go do something, so I'm just going to leave this comment here, so you guys can get started while I'm busy. Hopefully you guys piece some of this stuff together by the time I get back. Edit: I had forgotten about this for a while, but I am back to continue my unnecessarily detailed analysis.
