For anyone else curious what the Japanese text on computer monitor said, it appears to be from a novel of some sort! It says: The place was dark and dusty and I was half-lost. In a tangle of old alleys near the docks, with the smell of strange things brought in from the sea, and the odd eddy brought about by the westerly winds... The second sentence ends halfway through so it seems to just be a random snippet of text!

It appears to be a text taken from H. P. Lovecraft's poem, Fungi from Yuggoth. "The place was dark and dusty and half-lost. In tangles of old alleys near the quays." It's not 100% like the translation, but stuff like that usually happens, if this was translated to Japanese, then from Japanese to English.
