I so desperately wish you weren't limited by Gmod's map size. I can't even imagine what kind of crazy things to could make if you had your own game engine to work in. have you ever considered making Skyrim mods? Enderal basically threw away the game and entirely remade it from the ground up, if you had the entire map of Skyrim to work with I bet you could make something really scary.

I love the concept of doors that open onto different locations depending on when or how many times you go through the doorways. I think that would be fitting for your map series but Im guessing the source engine doesn't support that function? Keep up the good work.🫡

@@trashpostersanonymous sometimes having a framework to build off of is better than starting from scratch. Skyrim has everything gmod has, jumping, opening doors, weapons, but it also has magic and special powers for the shouts. You could make it seem like the player is slowly losing their humanity the longer they stay in the void, eventually becoming a voidling like Jimmy or Inno, you could even use the werewolf transformation to show that visually. I think it'd be super cool to see the voidplaces get remade in Skyrim, maybe with NPC survivors.

39:50 It's a pretty neat idea to think about, that this society is going through some kind of anomaly crisis with their sun and reality distorting, and then on top of that they have people from other realities popping into their world. It's actually a little honorable of them to try and guide people who get stuck in these places, even if they themselves are doomed. But if they know how to lead people out, then maybe that's why everyone's gone? Because they already took the exit?

To access Otherside, you need to go through pinkplace and activate the pittfalls event, where a specific floor vanishes showing off a pit. There is also no escape from what I gathered, its just a loop if you jump into the void. Edit : you can also access the lvl by simply jumping into the void in voidplaces

I swear... Out of all the Voidplace maps in this whole "saga". These ones totally hit different with me. (Especially the first one featured in this video...) I did not expect anything like that to happen here! Well good job again @PnkBl4ck for making what I could argue THE BEST horror experience in all of _GMOD._ Let alone... Perhaps the *ONLY* ONE OF ITS' KIND in ALL OF _Garry's Mod_ as a whole-thus far. This one is for the history books... *LITERALLY!!!* TDLR (if that's how it's said): I could see this going down the same path as _Nightmare House_ did, by spinning off into a standalone game entirely (with "Nightmare House 2"); all made on the Source Engine. You should probably take that into consideration. Thank me later... 😉

Hey Librarian, I think the player model getting messed up is an issue with the amnesia lanterns mod. I had a nasty issue with the playermodel getting messed up even outside of VR, specifically whenever you transition between maps, and process of elimination told me it was that mod. 43:48 nooo, you missed the mimic!

I've been watching your GMod Liminal space stuff, along with From the Fog, and I also saw you have a Little Nightmares series which I'm gonna get to in a bit. You're videos on horror are really interesting, and it makes me really want to see you play MiSide. More story based, but it's an amazing indie game, best played if you don't know anything about it. It goes into psychological horror elements which makes it awesome; I'd usually want to avoid even saying that, but I felt I had to because it really tricks you on the surface, like Doki Doki Literature Club.

This is a weird request, but my 3 favorite games from my childhood with sick atmosphere and detail hinting are the arkham games, bioshock and Alice madness returns. Id love to see you visit them. You have a way of inviting people into a world with an inspired set of eyes even if it's new to you. I'd love to revisit any of them.

starting to develop a bit of a headcanon (which is probably very wrong) from your videos on these maps first there was some big event in the world (thinking something akin to the second impact from evangelion) that is what brought the false sun, then society tried living after it and adapting. but over time the lasting effects of the event became more and more noticeable, mainly that reality itself started becoming unstable - areas that only exist or change when being observed, spaces and abstract concepts gaining consciousness into entities - and also that the sunlight in itself might neutralise or at least minimise the more egregious instability (despite bring its own, more 'manageable', anomalies'), so it started being seen as a kind of god entity. but then some other event happened that wiped (if not all at least a great part of) those left, and now all that stays is the anomalies, so now you're exploring a kind of post post apocalypse world becoming more and more abstract

11:47 That likely isn't exclusive to VR if I'm not mistaken. For me, each and every time I go through a load screen in maps, even the Half-Life 2 maps, my player models gets messed up in some way. Either my VOX assignment breaks, ability to go prone is lost, or my model itself gets all messed up and stretched out across the whole map. This means every time I hit a load screen in Gmod that isn't manually triggered by me selecting the map, I have to leave the map and come back. To me, it seems like it's an issue with custom player models or an issue just with having high 'weight' addons running (like the VR mod).

Someone else here suggested it might be the lantern SWEP. Which fair enough, this stuff happened to me a few times and I dont even have a SteamVR setup yet. Maybe its something about how the lantern's animations are overlayed on the player model.

Considering the eye-conography surrounding the sun that's been in every map, I wonder if that eye you encountered that said "I see you" while you were freaking out in the static room is the False Sun/Reality Digester. Also, I noticed how much dimmer the False Sun appears in the first map. In all the other maps it is, for lack of a better word, radiant. It shines like a pink flower in the sky, yet here it is only slightly larger in the sky than the normal sun would be. I wonder why that is?
