The more analog-looking desk and the new drives are a HUGE improvement over the last. Feels more immersive, too! Edit: Decided to check this new version out. There's actually a "cooking book" in the base itself, and it contains recipes for stuff like the alcohol brew you just did for Krampus. You should do more exploration in the next episode. There are subtler changes in 8.1 and 8.2 I really dig. (No spoilers of course!) - It seems like the moon phase affects the ambient light at night. Some nights are pitch-black, others have a really cozy blue glow. Or i'm crazy haha - 8.0 and 8.1 had really tricky performance issues and artifacting, but 8.2 seems to have fixed a lot of it. There used to be these black lines when sunrays were turned on, but I haven't seen them since the Xmas update. Also, to save you future trouble, I found a decent way to balance performance while decorating. Unreal just loves eating up resources for lights in particular. Glowsticks, signs, christmas lights (my new favorite!), are all dynamic and all cast shadows every single frame. However, lowering the screen resolution slider (the 0-100, not the dropdown), raising anti-aliasing and increasing sharpness makes the game look nearly the same as before but doubling your FPS. Also, of course, the Shadows slider makes a huge difference! Just figured I'd share that tip since it was pretty tricky for me to figure out while I was decorating haha

I played this game for the first time sometime after the terrain was overhauled, but I was playing on ambience mode since I was too scared to face what horrors hid beyond the story. As much as I was curious, I wasn’t brave enough to barrel through. Even though ambience mode removes (most of) the creepy content, that cabin was still there, and even though I knew better than to enter, I still did. The haunting howl of whatever beast that now watches over that cabin echoed through the woods around me reminded me that despite most of what posed a threat to me was now gone, I was never truly left alone, and I was stuck trying to find a way out, similar to what happened to you. However, your story was much more interesting. Stuck in a rotting cabin, mere moments from passing out. Seeing those pair of eyes stuck in there with you; It was almost like they took pity as you eventually succumbed to exhaustion. It would’ve been so interesting if eventually they took ahold of you and finally let you rest, almost like a friend. The insomnia demon has to be one of my favorite entities in this game.

The same way the insomniac is one of your favorite entities, I have an affinity for the antibreather He's just a funi onion guy hunting for mushrooms. He holds the shrooms in his mouth like a dog haha,. Apparently, he even has preferences, dropping a less favorable shroom in trade for one he likes more. Goober, I tell you. Not to mention how he saves kel no matter how many times he's passed out in the cave. Antibreather my beloved ❤️🧅

I have watched every season of your VOTV videos... multiple times. But, even being a 'veteran' of the game/story, I very much prefer if you play super slowly, explaining everything like it's new, and taking your time with everything. I wanted you to go slowly on your new season anyway, but with all of the new stuff (I wasn't aware of the newest update... those graphical upgrades are amazing!) it's an even better reason to take your time and explore everything, even if you think we all know how it works.
