Good video. My advice would be to design your shell before doing anything else. Then you will know what kind of turret tetris you need. If you overbuild your turret you are wasting huge amounts of materials and extra weight armoring it up. The only exception is if you design your turret to use multiple types of ammo. You can run mixed ammo through your intakes but a better way is to build 2 APS systems inside the same turret. You can even use ACB's to switch ammo loading! For example swap to kinetic supercavitation rounds when target is below X altitude. I prefer a different autoloader tetris, but honestly the staggered loaders will be fine in most cases.
@GMODISM2 жыл бұрын
Indeed if you have a specific round you know you need it's smart to build around it, for there large automatic turrets I however end up switching ammo depending on the type of target :)

Just so you know, all the recoil absorbers have the same storage and recovery per volume. Otherwise very nice job. I personally do everything in the opposite order but this seems to work as well.

Maybe a little late but isnt having autoloaders without having ejectors kinda dangerous in the case of a hit to the magazine?

how do you get a consistent rate of fire? at the end there when its firing its all over the place stuttering firing 4 rounds, then 3 rounds, then 5 rounds. I've been just setting the max rate of fire to slightly lower than the lowest out of cooling/loaders/intakes and testing it, it's pretty nice being able to fire forever not even stopping to reload. But I don't really know how I did it haha, is it just that I have too many loaders or something so it never needs to stop to reload? Is there a better way, a certain ratio of loaders to cooling blocks or anything like that?
@GMODISM3 ай бұрын
So what you are experiencing is due to all the autoloaders not having the same amount of clips, that introduces a little desync in firerate

What does it mean when it says "the shell is too long for the shell rack and cannot be accepted"
@stotin19536 ай бұрын
It means that the shell your using at the gauge your turret is firing is to big for your autoloaders to accept. Bigger shells means more damage, but you also need bigger autoloaders to fire it. Lowering the gauge of your turret can also increase the length of shell it fires. Also you can see the size of autoloader required to fire the shell on the APS controller

@@GMODISM Tetris is wasteful, too much cooling, shell is not optimal, no ejectors, armor is odd and too little recoil absorption. The tetris in perticular is weird. With a slight adjustment you can get a gapless tetris.
@GMODISM3 жыл бұрын
Tetris gives one a compact design, but since we got magazines connected to almost all slots I would not call it wasteful. You are right we have too much cooling, it depends on the shell however and might be adapted easily by removing a few more cooling blocks. About shell, what is your recommendation to replace this 330mm HEAT shell? Ejectors is a good idea for this size of turret when the shells are dangerous, so for this setup it is a good idea indeed! Armour is light since not all crafts can support a HA encasement. The reason for the gaps is to allow several connection points between the different decks of autoloaders.
@LH-gt6gz3 жыл бұрын
@@GMODISM Its wastefull because you have way to many cooling "pillars" going to the bottom. With a slightly diffrent layout you can achieve true gapless tetris without all the "pillars". Also the bottom of your cannon is all coolers. its more efficient to use the bottom for inputs and have coolers on top. This way you have space for one more autoloader and you can just place the second deck of autoloader on top of the coolers of the previous deck. Kind of like a cooler sandwich were the autoloader are the bread and the coolers the cheese. As for the shell, heat is a nishe ammo, sometimes its amazing but against some craft it does absolutly nothing. This is why its a gread secondary but not a good primairy weapon (same for hesh or emp). For a large cannon meant for large enemies use something like aphe, apfrag hollowpoint, or ap. Lastly for the armor, its odd because its so thick. Turret armor is only meant as an sort of extra spall liner without the actual space needed for spall liner. The main armor protecting the turret should just be the hull.
@GMODISM3 жыл бұрын
@@LH-gt6gz That is a good idea for this firerate gun! On some more rapid fire turrets made before the bottom layer was required to reach adequate cooling. I think the pillars are good for redundant design however. I guess we are talking pen depth fuse aphe apfrag? hollowpoint is wonderful on this gun, but guess one should rail assist it for maximum effect Yeah the armour is thick, but this is because we have a ejectorless design, hard to fit ejectors for everyone with this type of turret, so normally I would encase in 1m HA but its too hevay for many boats.
