I think Weld Points followed by Fix Mesh will fuse your cylinder and remove the little artifact you get otherwise.
@Glenn3D19937 жыл бұрын

When I extract the masked area I get rounded corners. You get straight corners. How can I fix that? Thank you a lot great tutorial!

Dear Glenn thanks for this great tutorial, ideal for a beginner like me. I'm still doing something wrong it seems. The moment I use the arc bender tool it doesn't make a nice circle like in your video .. moment i pass 20° all openings in the object stretch out and fold together in an ugly mess until it reaches 180° and it looks like a round circle filled with needles and artifacts (without any openings). I use zbrush 4R8 P2, I heard the arc bend tool was changed .. does this have anything to do with it ? Or is there another or new way to achieve the same result ? Thanks in advance !
@Glenn3D19936 жыл бұрын
I suspect you still have some masking applied to the Extracted Mesh. Clear the Mask and Try again. Just tried the process in 2018.1 and it worked good, but noticed mask was applied to extracted mesh. Hopefully thats the Problem

Thanks-I just reinstalled ZBrush this morning from switching pc's and checked it out. I like the tool layout, I need to play with the scale as I'm on a 27" monitor and I think you said your on a 23".

Since you pointed out some would know how to do it in Photoshop, and i mainly learn texturing right now, can you cover some photoshop pattern creation? Since your tuts are zbrush oriented you could combine this
@Glenn3D19937 жыл бұрын
+Marienkarpfen I'll see if I can knock something for you. What specifically are you trying to do in Photoshop
@Marienkarpfen7 жыл бұрын
Nothing specific, currently learning substance designer and need to know how to make more complex patterns in photoshop as base for textures support.solidangle.com/display/A5AF3DSUG/Coating someone made that golden pattern under the pill picture for me but by god i wouldnt know how to do something like this in substance designer itself (I specifically will need that knowledge to make armor patterns or skin marks)
@Glenn3D19937 жыл бұрын
+Marienkarpfen You might want to take a look at my Tutorial Zbrush 4R8 SVG import, I go into Photoshop and make a Quick gear vector Design and bring it back into Zbrush. I'd go the same route in Photoshop with that circular pattern in the image.
@Marienkarpfen7 жыл бұрын
Was informative. There are probably easier ways to right away add these outer grips to the circular shade. Not sure why it beveled that image and extruded it upon importing, gotta admit thats when i turned off :P Your videos are nice, keep running :p
