It was my favourite player as a kid too. He was just sensational. I got into basket when I was 6 because practice was just around the corner but it was quite a few years untill I got hooked to it and Hakeem The Dream had as much to do with it as Jordan. He was a real beast playing and the fact that he was a goalkeeper untill he was 15 just inspired me so much. I really think he is amazingly underrated.

And he is all class. He takes joy in other people doing well. Look how happy he is at being faked out by the smaller man. What a fine human being. He has a well balanced attitude to life. Hakeem one of the greatest basketball players who appeared on that horizon. I watched him workout and play while with Ogun Rockets at Abeokuta. He was with another basketball legend of blessed memory( Yommy Billy) I am sure if post my picture he is sure to remember me. I was always taken his pictures while playing there at Abeokuta. I remember vividly one of his blocks,...while the ball was assending, supposed to touch the top of the triangle above the rim as off the glass, Hakeem from no where wiped out to the crowd. The excite was so much from the crowd, the referee stopped the game.( Ogun Rocks vs Adopt of Bangui

too dam skilled for ANYONE! no one could guard him in the post! and then on the other end has the most blocks....the most skilled center to ever play the game and its not even close! it hurts my heart to hear him say the post is dead! if i was a 7 footer i would continue his legacy! i would copy everything! joel embid is the closest thing but he will never be as great because of arrogance! hes more worried about trolling than actually playing the game! i get emotional watching this man! i got so much repect for hakeems game and hes such an incredible human!
@rapcetera
@rapcetera 2 жыл бұрын
You’re right. However I have to note that Embiid is as of this writing the MVP favorite for 2022 NBA season. He is currently on the longest sustained run of excellent basketball in his career. He has definitely incorporated a lot of Hakeem’s moves. In fact he talks about it often. All to say he has matured a lot in the last year or two. I think a lot of his maturity has come about from him watching his friend Giannis win a Chip.

He is the ultimate paint player, both offence and defence. Although his nickname is "The Dream", he was actually "The Nightmare" for anyone facing him in the paint. The player MJ admitted to scare him and MJ picked Hakeem as his starting center without skipping a hearbeat.
