This music was actually purchased by the principle clarinetist, Curtis. He and his family had bake sales as part of his community service project then donated the money to the band. In discussion with the band director it was decided that the money would be used to purchase music for the band to play. Mr. Sullivan gave him a list of music for him to review and pick out what he wanted and they would discuss it. This is the song that he picked out and Mr. Sullivan agreed. The music invokes the thought of the Chinese Terracotta Warriors that were discovered a few years ago and a thought of them coming to life. To add a sound reminiscent of Chinese music the piece starts out with Curtis joined by Noah playing on recorders. Later in the piece percussion will play an instrument that is made to sound like an army on the march. This is a fun song to listen to.
