Got about a tenth of a cruise done barely set foot in the Atlantic and sink by hedgehogs. Well that was quick I thought Not to mention maybe feeling a bit anxious. have not gone back yet.

Interesting...I have been looking for a good modern tactical level U-boat game. I have Steel Wolves by Compass that pursues the strategic U-boat campaign from the perspective of Donitz and abstracts a lot of the tactical side. It is massive at 12 counter sheets for it includes one counter for each actual U-boat. However, it gets very cumbersome once a convoy is found because of assembling an entire convoy from random draws. It is an overwhelming game for most, aside from grognards like me, and even then few do the entire war campaign. Most select a favorite year. Still, it is the only solitaire game or otherwise out there to let you manage the whole affair. I also have the expansion of German Fleet Boats which takes up the hypothetical of what if the Germans exclusively focused on their larger and longer range designs on the drawing boards.. Even more carnage results over a much wider field.

12 counter sheets, WOW. I just looked at the images on BGG, that does look a bit crowed on the game board.
