I've got a question, I'm still confused in the picture it looks like the wire kit only come with 2 2 pin connectors but I'm looking at a 5 pin connector on the new actuator could you possibly explain the wiring a little better

The kits harness has 3 connectors 2 of the 2 pin and one 5 pin with 3 terminals used . Buy the kit read the directions

Dorman is listing the 600-600 kit to be compatible with 1996 and under, directly on their website. Have you confirmed it also applies to 97’s?

It does apply to some 97’s that originally came with a thermal actuator

The thermal actuator and 5 pin actuator have the same threads into the differential? Is the 5 pin actuator the same as the gmt800 actuator?

Treads are the same idk if gmt400 and 800 are the same but if you do some part number searching I’m sure you can figure it out

@@TRUCK_TECHNICIAN I've got an '04 2500 and the np246 has been giving me hell. I'm manual shift converting the np246, welding the clutch pack fully engaged and installing a floor shifter. I would like to use the posi lok 4x4 diff actuator but they show it only for the gmt400 2500 trucks with the thermal actuators. I'm thinking it will work!!

It may work I know there’s a way to wire it with a double throw toggle switch but you have to l know what your doing

hey, greetings, I want to add that modification to my tahoe 1997 5.7 vortec but it tells me that it won't fit and my diff has two pins I just changed the differential I put a newer one from a 2000 and it already has the electric one but the connections how can I do them since it has two connectors so that the 4x4 can fit thanks I hope you can help me

600-600 gives you the harness you need and it comes with directions for your application . The Second connector that didn’t go to the shift actuator is for the signal to show you inside the truck that the four-wheel-drive is engaged I believe the electronic shift actuator has the sensor built into it

How does the puck not fall into the feont axle?

It sits against the shift fork in the actuator tube so it stays between the two

@@TRUCK_TECHNICIAN I'm having issues with my 4x4 and it was swapped to this set up but a second relay was added for some reason and idk what is going on. So I need to research all I can and see what the previous owner messed up and I fix it. It is a 97 cclb k3500.

@@codydunn242 there’s a switch on the transfer case that can Go bad the I believe makes the relay turn on when the 4x4 is shifted into 4wd

If im not mistaken, and you don't want to wire it to the switch on the transfer case, you could go from the 12v source on the passenger firewall, to a toggle, then to the brown wire that goes to the new style solonoid. Just have to remember to flick the toggle everytime you put it in and take it out of 4 wheel drive.
