My grandma passed away last night. She helped raise me. In the car she never really listened to any music, but one time she turned it on and this came on. We both sang and danced to it. "you really think you're in control?" The way he says that. There's a nuance to the emotion he uses that I can't define. It's a mixture of sarcasm, sadness, and defeat, but it's also kind and fraternal, like he's extending an olive branch to the listener to make peace with their situation. But all these little hints of emotion add up into something completely different and greater than their value combined, and I don't think our language has a word for it.

I remember when I woke up after my open heart surgery. Drugged up in Ketamine I listened to Gnarls Barkley "Crazy" on repeat for close to 6 hours straight. That song and it's lyrics were all I could focus on. I will never forget that night. I was waiting for the world to wake up and see I was still alive. The most surreal experience of a lifetime. I'm still never going to be able to explain it properly. The depth of that song explained my soul as it started a new chapter in my existence on this spining ball we call home temporarily.

This song is truly written by a genius. It's about the internal struggles we all face through life and our impending self doubt. The self doubt happens because of our knowledge of what we each learn through our life's. Each persons knowledge base is difference because we all have different paths. It makes us look at other people as if they are the crazy ones when in fact they look at us as if we are crazy. He is stating his acceptance of being crazy based on difference to put it aside and move forward. Truly a brilliant song with deep meaning.

Ink Static This came out the year after I graduated from college. I was driving an hour and a half each way to a soulless office job still dealing with leaving my college life & friends and “growing up” in the real world. I would play this song on repeat during the drive, it was a powerful song to me then and really moved me. It (and of course the song that goes with it) are both masterpieces

Despite the vague clarifications provided by the authors, the lyrics speak of cheating and death. Obviously, the authors were warned that it would not be good for them to tell the truth, as had happened with other musical hits (examples are Hotel California and A Whiter Shade of Pale, both with scary plots). Crazy is the story about a man cheated on by the woman he loved, a story told by himself. When she leaves him to live with her lover, he comes to her to kill her. He starts a conversation, tells how he went crazy when he witnessed her having wild sex with her lover - "her screams, laughs and moans were echoed by his". After the terrible discovery, he tells her, he didn't pursue her the times she left without taking precautions to keep the love affair secret, as he didn't need any more proof, what he knew was enough. She, without knowing his intention to kill her, belittles, humiliates him. He ironically says he hopes she's having a lot of fun with her lover, then starts to speak aggressively, saying that she should be careful, as she did not have the situation under control. He tells how since he was a child he found it amusing that his heroes had the bravery to die doing themselves what they believed should be done, and that was the reason he was there: he would kill her and didn't mind dying too.

Umm. What do you see....

What I See: "I think the beauty of all art, is the ability to interpret what it means to the one perceiving its start. Not always is the original intention of the artist, what ends up being real to the one that parts with it." I can't disagree. You may be correct; you may not ever see the crazy that I see. Though so much of what's explained, sounds a lot like a poet's "love" to me. @nguzoloveinlofi3832
