Wow...finally someone who is a natural teacher. Thank you for this, it answered a lot of questions. I've spent weeks on KZbin going through countless videos trying to piece this all together, and I learned more in this one video, than all of the others ones combined. Very well laid out and explained. Thanks again!

Going less west is perfectly fine and it's how my instructor would explain things. More east = less west so you can determine whether added or subtracting. Great video Tom.

Thanks so much! The South African CPL covers all of this in the exams, and the study notes only explain it very vaguely. You have helped me so much.

Shouldn’t shortest be added to the departure definition thus stating that departure is the shortest measuring distance between two longitudes along the same latitude ? Excellent videos, thanks

A question: when can you determine that the points of longitude are on the anti meridian side of the earth? Past 180 degrees E/W?

Hi! GNav stands for General Navigation, which compliments the other exam RNav which is Radio Navigation.
