Really cute and easy to follow instructions! Just as an FYI, this took my friends and me 12 hours total to complete over two days, and one of us paints frequently. All our gnomes turned out great, but just fair warning to those who want to try! Thanks for the tutorial!

I love this painting. I had the same problem With making a lighter shade of red mix a little yellow to get a lighter mix an use that instead of white.

Hi I am doing this adorable painting right now! You explained it so that even I can paint it!!! I want to share a little tip that I learned from another artist on you tube about painting dark colors on a dark canvas( the gnomes)if you paint it white first let that dry then put the color over the white it makes the color really show up.just a little tip I learned from Michelle the painter.Sort of like a primer.Especially if you are using student grade paints. Thanks for sharing this great little painting!

oh yes you can use a black canvas...though a thin layer of black paint will help your other paints to adhere and flow better
