Thanks. This is just another options. Keep on using VMware if you are happy with VMware. Some people don't want to pay for VMware Workstation Pro and some struggle to get VMware Workstation Player working.

GNS3 can't start VirtualBox unless the VM has a host-only adapter configured and that adapter has DHCP enabled. In VirtualBox 6.0, go "File > Host Network Manager > Create" - tick the DHCP checkbox. Try completely uninstalling gns3, downloading latest from Oracle, then installing fresh. That fixed it for me.

hello, excuse me sir. I followed and watched your video regarding troubleshooting the gray GNS3 GUI. I have searched the internet to solve this problem, which is what I have done namely by disabling the enable adapter, ensuring the gns3 vm and gui versions are the same (2.2.52 version that I use), setting the adapter on the gns3 vm in my virtualbox, adapter 1 host only adapter, and adapter 2 I set nat, and I was successful ping from the local computer to the gns3 vm in virtualbox, I have also checked the allow an ap through windows firewall setting for the gns3 server and gns3 u bridge, below I have included some screen displays, what else can I do? I have tried this on three seperate computers (All intel), Windows 10, Windows 7 and all three computers have and can run Virtual machines, they all have VT-X support enabled in the bios and all three, will not allow KVM support. Why does this not work?

VirtualBox only supports nested virtualization on AMD processors. Intel is not currently supported. Hopefully they will support Intel at some point, but it is not currently :(

As mentioned in the video, VirtualBox doesn't support nested virtualization on Intel processors. You need an AMD processor. You will need to use a VMware product to get nested virtualization or with GNS3 2.2, use Hyper-V

Thanks. As the saying goes, if it's not broken, don't change it. If you are happy with VMware Player, just use that. However, a lot of people have issues with VMware Player and VIX and some people prefer VirtualBox to VMware Player which is limited.
