Lovely video on jñāna yoga! My first time on this channel. At the risk of repetition and redundancy, I will define a few terms and try to complement what is already an excellent video! jñāna in the context of understanding reality has been defined differently by different Hindu philosophers. jñāna yoga literally means the path of union through knowledge implying an intellectual analysis leading to a self-experience of bhagavān. In bhagavat gītā the emphasis of jñāna yoga is upon the knowledge of the self. ādi śaṃkarācārya advocated jñāna yoga as one of the principal methods constituting a neti neti (not this not this) search approach to negate objects of consciousness with the goal of realizing the non-duality of the individual self and brahman. In the context of bhagavat gītā, yoga: union with bhagavān karma yoga: path of union through active work jñāna yoga: path of union through knowledge bhakti yoga: union through love and devotion rāja yoga: path of union through meditation for focusing the mind Going by the literal meanings of karma, jñāna, and bhakti , yes these can be enacted on their own but when used in the context of reality of our existence (or if one prefers for getting closer to śrī kṛṣṇa) then that is the path of the yoga in karma, jñāna, and bhakti referred to in bhagavat gītā. In bhagavat gītā, śrī kṛṣṇa treats each of the above exclusively to help Arjuna (and us) understand each by itself first and to give us the choice to pursue any one or all of them based on our individual tendencies. However, the ideal is a harmonious blend of all three of them, karma, jñāna, and bhakti. At 1:15 of the video. When śrī kṛṣṇa dissuades Arjuna from going to the forest and to follow the path of karma instead, how karma, bhakti, and jñāna come together. The physical action of being engaged in the war - kshatriya dharma - is in the path of karma yoga, the knowledge given by sri krishna with which Arjuna overcomes his grief of warring with relatives is jñāna, and the underlying Arjuna’s love and devotion for śrī kṛṣṇa by which Arjuna surrenders to śrī kṛṣṇa is in the path of bhakti yoga. In fact, it is Arjuna’s bhakti for śrī kṛṣṇa that helps Arjuna receive the jñāna from śrī kṛṣṇa giving Arjuna the mental strength to perform his kshatriya dharma. Two enlightening points noted in the conclusion of the video, (1) Even if I don’t get mokṣam in this lifetime, I will continue to learn, because I will build on that knowledge, and (2) please don’t bring me back to this plane (in conversations with bhagavān). With best wishes ❤

If we remember the soul's true essence, it is like discovering we have wings, and soaring into the clouds, and seeing the world as Bhagwan sees, with clarity and compassion rather than bias and judgment.

The things i like the most about hinduism is that our scriptures come with the knowledge in bundals and our ancient sages and rishies let reader to choose what kind of knowledge they wanna understand or fit in their life. Its not like other religion in where you should follow specific norm and rules to follow a religion - this feels like a perosn tied up with chains to follow their religion. But, hinduism is different than that. There are three margs in hinduism, gyan marg, karm marg and bhakti marg like arts, commerce and science.. And every paths are respectable and all those paths help you to get closer to understand the ultimate reality, which is brahm. brahm is formless, limitless, beyond the cycle of birth and death, and also beyond the time and all kind of universal matters. Thats why even our mind are not capable to think about it. But those margs are help us to get closer to understand the brahm. For teaching ordinary people who didn't know sanskrit and wasn't capable to understand this concepts at back of the time, our ancient sages teach them by using stories and give vary names to that ultimate reality and even give it form.. Thats why some people call that ultimate reality krishna, mahadeva or adi shakti. In my case, i am more into gyan marg/ advait vedanta. Because, it has room for science and all kind of universal laws.. It believes in cause and effects. Its very practical and logical philosophy. Thanks ❤

Whatever u mentioned is absolutely right except the stories about God is real. Otherwise we would not have bhagvat gita. Thev sagun braham is ishwar i.e Brahma, vishnu and mahesh.

Good Video ! I'm currently reading Yoga Vasishtha which is a dialogue between Guru Vasistha and his Student Rama. And in this book there's a heavy emphasis on Gnyana Yoga and some Karma Yoga but no Bhakti. It's definitely something interesting to read after reading bhagavat-gita.
