WARNING: the receiver does not send a negative ACK, instead, the sender has a re-transmission timeout (RTO), in which if that time is elapsed, it re-transmits the lost packages.

Only SR Protocol uses NAK.. In Go-back N after expiration of timeout timer, the frame is resent back

like in stop and wait, where the timer is set for each frame on sender side and unless an ACK for a frame is reached by that time, no more frames are sent . What happens here, I mean after how much time the sender checks for acknowledgements of the frames ? Say frame 1, 2, 3 has been sent as in go back N cumulative ack is there , so will the sender expects the ack after sending all the frames or it goes on checking the acknowledgements while sending frames ? Say,frame 2 is lost , so receiver does not send acknowledgement for frame 2 so will sender stop sending frames and send frame 2 or it will send all the frames and then only sits for checking acknowledgments and by not getting ack of frame 2 , starts retransmitting all from frame 2 ?
