I read the book first--loved it. It's now one of my all time favorite novels. The movie is absolutely beautiful, misses a couple things but that's to be expected with a book-to-movie adaptation, but the film and Michael and Alicia are absolutely wonderful

I love how authentic Alicia is when she carries herself. She's not all dainty but struts like a dude and chews on gum like a school girl. She is that comfortable to just be herself...Most of us girls carry ourselves as feminine as we can....than you see women like Alicia that just don't care and would be considered as 'chavs'. She is clearly not a chav or ghetto.

Wow. An old-school movie. You don't see that much any more. I'm surprised the studio execs didn't add a gratuitous car chase, a 20-minute gun shootout, a terrorist angle, and a few zombies.
