Ich habe den Chromefektlack gekauft und es sieht gut aus, der Chromefekt ist sehr schön. Was allerdings niemand erwähnt ist, dass man die Oberfläche selbst nach dem trocknen nicht anfassen kann da es direkt Abdrücke gibt die den Chromefekt zerstören. Selbst nach 5 Tagen Trocknungszeit bei 24 Grad und einer sehr geringen Luftfeuchtigkeit, bleibt der Lack im Kern weich. Von Stardustcolor kommt diesbezüglich keine wirkliche Hilfe und überlackieren mit Klarlack zum Schutz ist auch nicht möglich, dann sieht es US wie eloxiertes Aluminium. Der Preis von gut 50€ für 120ml ist absolut überteuert und überzeugt hat mich der Lack nicht!

Because a clear coat will negatively affect the reflection on this paint... How resilient is the paint itself? Will it hold up to handling and not rub off or impact reflectiveness?

I sprayed it on, left it for a week... yes, it rubs off. Will not buy it ever again. Save your money for a proper kit that works with a 2k clear coat like "Custom Creations Paints" Spray on Chrome here in the UK. Cheers. Leigh.

Almost all chrome paints are sensitive to solvents in all clear top coats you have to use a water based acrylic. I use vellajo acrylic in an aerosol. Then use an enamel clear to seal it

@@theoriginalwallace When you say it rubs off what do you mean. It is described clearly as a decorative paint. So sounds ideal for model makers like me who don't subject it to any kind of constant contact like rubbing for example. So in this context I assume it does dry and has a finished mirror/chrome finish. I will not be applying it to anything that will be exposed to any rigorous use or exposure to the elements.

Where did this guy learn to paint with a brush? You never slap the brush around in the paint like that, it makes bubbles in the paint, which can really cause issues with paint like this.

Yes but it will loose it's reflection and it won't properly adhere to this chrome paint.

I have not tried this and on the other hand it could be due to low temperature that causing the chrome layer lost its shine as clear coat usually have micro bubbles that prevent the reflective layers of the chrome.

They make a decorative and an automotive version of this chrome paint. They offered me a chance to distribute this in Texas, but when I asked about trying it first, paying for it of course, I NEVER heard back. So I don't know how well it works. Does this mirror chrome paint doesn't turn metallic silver such as Molotow Liquid Chrome? I hope not.

The thing is Molotow takes a long time to fully dry!! When you first apply it, and it's wet, it looks exactly like chrome. When it dries it turns metallic silver. But if you let it dry further - and in my case the item I had painted which was a plastic masquerade mask - it will eventually go bright chrome again. I dried the item on my car dashboard in direct sunlight on hot days for a couple of weeks. That's how long it took to fully dry and look like chrome again!! 6 months later and the mask still looks like chrome! It's actually a very good finish, but you need to dry it properly. I actually spray painted it too thick. Do it as thin as you can to get the density required - and DRY DRY DRY!!

@@starscream8163 I'm guessing they are all similar? There is also Green Stuff World Chrome, which is alcohol based and similar to Molotow. Let me know how you go with Liquid Mirror. The trouble with all these paints is durability, and I haven't found any clear coat that works yet!! Molotow is pretty durable, but you can't rub it!!

@@starscream8163 I've tried Stuart Semple Mirror Chrome. It is not very good. Even You tube videos demonstrate that , although you wouldn't believe it from the people advertising it. It is not as chrome or mirror like as GO CHROME.

In the 1970’s I bought this VW beetle and I was so excited I found a can of chrome spray at a local store. I was going home to spray my wheels . I thought it would make my wheels chrome but I was wrong . It came out silver without any reflection. Needless to say I was very disappointed.

For anyone interested, it isn't as good as it looks. I've used both brush and spray. Using the brush leaves horrible milky coloured parts in the paint and the spray comes out looking like silver paint. I highly advise against buying this stuff, as it's over priced deceiving silver paint.

@@IAINoodle I kinda screwed up what I said here but if you want a small nice enough chrome finish spaz stix still works. It can be top coated but only with something like the alclad gloss clear. That will not dull out the finish too much. You will need an airbrush.
