Go Devil Long Tail in Spanish Lake (GoDevilGod)

Come along in this gorgeous POV run with a 23hp Go Devil Long Tail on a 14'x48" flat bottom aluminum Jon boat running through Bayou Braud/Bayou Paul and into Spanish Lake within the Spanish Lake sub-basin in St. Gabriel/Prairieville, Louisiana area. Video makes it to the lake at 2:50
Top speed of 24mph measured with speedometer app, water depth ranged from 2-3 feet on the bayou and about 10inches to 1 foot in the lake.
Motor is a Kohler 23hp Command Pro OHV V-Twin.

About how much fuel do you use on an outing like this - or would you carry for day out roughly? Good footage / camera work!

Thank you! And I use a 6 gal. fuel cell with a spare 1 gal. gas can just in case but I've never used more than 3 gallons on one trip. Those little v-twins get good mpg lol!

@@GoDevilGod Do you run electric fuel pump for that 6 gal. tank ? Just wondering if it depends how far fuel tank is from motor ? Or maybe use electric just to get fuel up to motor? Thank I have 16hp vtwi. Vanguard that I'm trying to put on beaverton frame- thanks

@@jacklowe3788 No electric fuel pump, just a primer bulb and the fuel pump that's in the motor. But have fun with the BeaverTail build, that 16hp Vanguard will take you where you need to go for sure!

Does Lilly pads get built up on your skeg,,I have a 58 inch crawfish with a 22hp,,1542 I hit Lilly pads going 18 mph and every hundred foot it blows out from Lilly pads getting built up on the skeg,,totally shuts my speed down,,I end up going across the pads at about 8 mph,,so you have that problem,,wander if it’s because I’m running a 58 inch

@@michaeldugas7447 It's dry now but you can still run it with a GD long tail. A few weeks without rain and it gets low quick. Check our my newest upload - that's how it looks right now, after several days with no rain.

@@michaeldugas7447 They're doing work on the flood gates at Alligator Bayou right now. But that's where the launch is - where Alligator Bayou and Bayou Manchac intersect.

Yessir, public land and plenty of woodies on the trees surrounding the lake, which of course are accessible by boat.

Nothing in the lake, Alligator Bayou still boasts sac a lait and plenty of catfish.
