This wing has very stable, anti-stall character due to the wing fences IMO; it's an old trick and an easy solution to fix the problem. I've got a Skywalker Falcon coming and will be installing fences to see if I can tame it for sloping, will post on RC Groups.

I have all the components for a longer rang fpv plane. Considering this, fx-69, mini talon, volantex - anything you would like to suggest - I'm torn. Ap is not my main focus with the rig just some longer flights over longer distances

The Penguin might be a good choice. Good wingspan, very roomy inside, and the canopy is already set up to mount FPV gear.

Your using the i10 transmitter. Are you also using the fatshark with head tracking for the FPV? If so, how did you program the transmitters trainer mode for the head tracking? I have the same transmitter with the fatshark. Can't get the transmitter to program correctly.

Great review. Love the close proximity tree flights. That plane looks like it comes in pretty fast for landing. I have the FX-61 Phantom flying wing, also very docile & great stall characteristics, but landing speed is much slower. The only thing I notice is with visual flight it can become hard to discern orientation at a distance, so I don't fly it as high as my standard wing/tail aircraft when non FPV.
@Sinkey1019 жыл бұрын
Nice video mate. I also use the TGY-i10 receiver and transmitter, what sort of range are you getting while using the standard antenna?

Looks good and even better without the bubble. It might help to move the gimbal forward more or cut away the rim that obstructs the side view.

Nice flying, especially the low passes. I just ordered this model. I can't help but think that those winglets are placed wrong - they in the way of airflow on the way to prop but maybe should be at wing tips to decrease the turbulence. Does it feel like something is wrong the aerodynamics?
@hvFlateric9 жыл бұрын
I agree with pretty much all your observations regarding this wing. I was very surprised by it stal characteristics also. But what really was a bigger surprise is the speed this thing can move along at. I mean it can really get going. I also had my prop break and take out the very cheap motor mount, twisting up the motor wires. Mine was caused by the little tiny hatch coming off during a launch and getting fed into the prop, causing it to break, become unbalanced and shatter motor mount. I 3d printed a nice stronger one to replace it. I also replaced the folding prop with a mystique electric glider prop, it's larger, centers perfectly on the provided motor and best of all has a aluminium hub. It is a larger prop but operates very well on this wing. My watt meter shows the provided esc handles this setup also. I did find the gimbal a bit flimsy again cheap plastic. I have since replaced my go discover with a rvjet from range video. This is the original frame that the go discover was copied from. Much higher quality components, and they give you wing extensions for slower heavier load fpv flights. Much more expensive airframe however. Love your vids, great flying, keep em coming and thanks for your efforts.
@hvFlateric9 жыл бұрын
hvFlateric Oh ya, one thing, if your going to fly without the front bubble be sure to take extra time to fastener your hatches down so they don't come loose into your prop.

Alittle tip on the landing; since it has a folding prop which feathers (folds) when the engine is cut, on approach use 10% throttle or lower to get the prop creating some drag.

Hello, I need some help from a pro! I am thinking about buying the Hubsan Spyhawk H301S RTF. It has an advertised range of 1km (many people seem to get well above this, even up to 1,5km). It comes pre-built with FPV and a 1080p camera. Flight time should be about 20-30 minutes. It also has GPS, RTH, OSD and stabelize mode. Is this a good buy? Also, are these features good enough for fun and keep the fun up with room for experimenting etc.?

Im flying for like 5-6 months with a parkflyer/trainer (4 channel) i already can fly safely and land where i want to land on runways so im not landing on random places . Would you recommend the Bixler 3 or the Go Discover as my next rc plane? ( i know i make alot of grammar mistakes im not a native english speaker)
@GodsCorruptible8 жыл бұрын
+Boris Bobo bix3 then the Go discover in my opinion. Dont run before you can walk :) The Bix3 is a true floater and flying into a headwind it will basically stay in position with a little throttle control, like its hovering. The flaps also work really well so landing speeds are very very slow. I have video's on my channel of the Bix3 kitted out with fpv gear and an autopilot. if you buy pnf, make sure you upgrade the motor/esc if adding fpv gear, the standard equipment is not enough for the extra weight.

Yup, I have a large scare in my gut from one of those propellers braking a part! About 70% failure, and it is literally futile to consider a lawsuit.. I actually change to aluminum prop hubs, and custom carbon blades.. all custom... but worthed, I have kind of the same problem landing, but one get use to it after a while.. now using a patch antenna, and a tuned tx circular polarized antenna, I have not been able to reach the full mile of range with my 5.8! I don't really know what I'm doing wrong. I'm seriously consider going for a 1.3 Ghz system may be that way I can manage a longer range. I use a Zeta "FX-61 phantom, it is really stable I think that the planes with that type of vertical stabilizer style are much better than others. Thanks for the video I really enjoy, I
