Great to see Brad looking so happy and back to his vintage best. Brad if youre reading this mate, please, please, PLEASE do a review of the movie THE EDDIE CANTOR STORY, its without doubt the worst musical biopic ever and stars Keefe Brasselle (the guy who said "Gee what i'd give to own that ball" in The Babe Ruth Story) as Cantor and that casting is like casting Lou Ferrigno as Dudley Moore and the film makes The Babe Ruth Story look like Citizen Kane.

Okay, I know I said last week that "Wild Guitar" was a huge downgrade from "Rock Around the Clock", but for a studio movie about an up and coming Rocker, this is a huger downgrade. We have a protagonist whose basically a douchebag and yet he rewarded at the end for his singing ability. Rock legends like Chuck Berry and Richie Valens being underutilized. And some not so subtle racism, I mean "The Krazy Koffee Kup"...REALLY?! Great episode, even though I kinda dumped on "Wild Guitar", but at least the protagonist is more likable and the story as corny as it was, it at least tried to tell one.

Unfortunately it would have been almost impossible at the time to have a mainstream movie with a black lead. So instead we get a goofy looking white kid who can't sing or play the guitar. And they don't even let him sing actual rock music. There's probably only a few seconds of rock in the entire movie. I wonder if audiences felt cheated. Still they did briefly show Chuck when it could have just gone the completely safe route and not shown any black people at all. And it does show Richie Valens.
