Battle of Asal Uttar is taught in military schools worldwide because of how the terrain was used against tanks. The Indian side was outnumbered but they breached a local canal during night and flooded the sugar fields where the battle was taking place. Then lured the Pakistani tanks into pushing the Indian side but they got slowed by the flooding and got encircled.

Operation grand slam would be successful. My father told me that General Akhtar Hussain Malik was about to take Srinagar. But Ayub Khan replaced him with his favourite Yahya Khan. And that change in command led to a delay which was able to let India bring reinforcements. Pakistan waged battle in disputed territories. India attacked an internationally recognized border. It was a failure of Pakistan to even realize that India goes to full lengths to defend itself. They made this mistake in Kargil too where they sent a very small group of soldiers and India sent a whole battalion lol.

Fun facts :- 1. During the peace conference in tashkent USSR the Indian prime minister died mysteriously . 2. during this time, the Indian Prime Minister from tashkent , USSR signed the documents of permission for beginning of nuclear programme of India . Subsequently, India will move nuclear bombs, but will never test them until much later . 3. During this time, the CIA got its biggest most important lead on the Indian nuclear project by hearing the conversations between the Indian prime minister and the people sitting at Indian nuclear ☢️ facility , which later compelled them to kill the head of Indian nuclear department Sir Homi Daba by bombing his plane . 4. The 3rd point’s legitimacy can be checked by the book, written by CIA head of Asian division where he wrote in his book of how CIA was involved in the murder of Indian scientist .

The kargil area has been always vital. 1-the guy in the vid didn't cover this, India would take some Pakistani peaks during the 1965 August war in Kutch as a response of Pakistan intrusion But would surrender those peaks, operation ablaze 2-in 1947 Gilgit scouts would capture Kargil, Zojila and even advanced towards Leh But due to no help of supplies from high command had to retreat back to skardu. 👍🏻

Hilarious how Pakistan started this war to conquer kashmir, Failed to capture it and much of lahore streets ended up getting patrolled by Indian troops until the peace resolution was passed. (Chawinda battle only halted the Indian advance, it didnt expel Indian troops out of Pakistan, the peace treaty caused Indians to leave pak). Soon few years later, Entire eastern pakistan and it's capital dhaka would fall to Indians who will also capture numerous parts of sindh in the west.

The Maharaja of Kashmir wanted to remain independent but Pakistan armed Tribal militias invaded Kashmir, The jihadis targeted Sikhs and Hindus, even moderate muslims, plundering, looting, killing, and kidnapping women and children. They also forcibly converted some women and left a trail of bloodshed and fear. The Maharaja backed into a corner asked India for help but Sardar Patel(Home Minister) said India will only send in army if Kashmir officially joins India, October 26, 1947 Kashmir officially joined the republic of India. Indian army then entered Kashmir to kick out the Pakistani invaders, But our great PM Nehru being naive went to the UN hoping that UN will support India as Kashmir according to all international law belongs to India but the UN asked both parties to come to a ceasefire, which caused Kashmir to be partitioned and half of Kashmir is still occupied by Pakistan, if only instead of trying to become a international hero , Nehru initiated military action then the entire Kashmir issue would have never even existed.

The mahraja chose to remain neutral, not joining India or Pakistan. Unfortunately, the Pakistani establishment believed that because the raja was a Hindu, he would eventually join India, which led to a Pakistani army-led Kabali attack on independent Kashmir. To save Kashmir from Pakistani occupation, the maharaja requested Indian army assistance, which PM Nehru denied. The PM informed the Raja that the army would only be dispatched if he chose to merge Kashmir with India, which is why Kashmir joined India.

Indian Lt Gen Harbakhsh Singh’s book on 1965 war quotes the following: "On September 6, XI Corps launched a surprise attack at 4am, led to the crossing of the Ichhogil canal and the capture of the Bata shoe factory on the outskirts of Lahore by 11am. But the senior commanders could not cope with the situation and ordered a withdrawal to the east bank of the canal [BRB Canal] by that evening". Congress Leader Capt Amarinder Singh: “India almost lost Amritsar in 1965 war” Fifty years after the 1965 Indo-Pak war, deputy leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha, Captain Amarinder Singh, has shed new light on an order allegedly given by the then Army Chief to withdraw Indian Army troops in Punjab, which could have led to the surrender of Amritsar.

In Line of Duty: A Soldier Remembers, according to Zia Sensations, the editor of Dawn, Lt Gen Ayub Khan reveals that not only "did Gen Khan play a very important role in the entire surrender at poonch, he was so nervous as to be on the verge of losing half of Punjab to India, including the city of Rahimyar Khan. Khan describes, in clinical detail, how our own offensive in the Lahore sector had come unhinged. The general commanding the division on Ichchogil canal fled in panic, leaving his jeep, its wireless running and the briefcase containing sensitive documents that were then routinely read on Radio India during the war and Pakistan surrendered 20000 soldiers after that. Ayub Khan wanted to court martial him, Yahya Khan let him get away with resignation.

Something that was wrongly potrayed in the Video: The Hindu Maharaja had decided to keep Kashmir Independent and had to only join India because there was an invasion from Pakistan.
@johncapron6010

That wasn't the reason, because prior to the split the British had announced that every princely state would have to either join India or Pakistan and could not remain independent. Don't wrongfully interpret something just because it would help you believe in what indian media tells you. By that same logic, the maharaja of Hyderabad wanted to join Pakistan and filed a complaint against indian behavior in the UN, but was invaded by India and taken over. What stupid defence would you bring then?

India is a secular country whereas Pakistan, well I will leave it to your decision once you see a steep decline in their minorities percentage in population after independence, in contrast to India where the minorities are about same share of the population since independence. Pls don't get fooled by ur media, who can't comprehend Hinduism and Hindutva. Funny I saw in most videos that Radical hindus are dominant in south and communists prevailing in northern Indian region, which is incorrect. The 1965 war may have been useless for both India and Pakistan since they were still back to square 1 with no side gaining anything but I see it as a win for Bangladesh. It was the Bengali troops of the famous East Bengal Regiment that saved Pakistan in Lahore and Sialkot which led General Yahya Khan the army chief of Pakistan increase the number of battalions in that regiment. These additional troops were vital to build up the Bangladesh Forces during the Liberation war of 1971.

I remember reading an article on this war. Specifically the air campaign. The Pakistanis, knowing that they could never match India in terms of the number of planes and pilots, opted to put heavy resources into producing a core of highly trained pilots. And they did a fair job of holding their own against the much larger Indian airforce.

Some Pakistanis still say the results were ambiguous, and that they still "faught off" Indians(yeah that's what they could basically despite having like all modern tanks, aircrafts, technologies, training etc. backed by US) who came in WW2 tanks. But in the following wars, Pakistan stood no chance. 1971, India cut off half of Pakistan, what an embrassment. 93000 troops surrendered. And later too in Kargil War, Pakistan was heavily criticised by International community and India decisively won that.

@@kellychuang8373 Facts. When the Soviet Afghan war was in full swing, many countries were working together to free Afghanistan from communism. The mujahadeen were formed and later we’re so effective they managed to kick the Soviet out of Afghanistan in 10 years with 50,000 killed or wounded soldiers. Then eventually there was a splinter faction in the mujahideen which later became the Taliban. In a way it’s kind of depressing to see that after all the war that was fought in Afghanistan, the country just seems to go from one oppressive government to another.
