8:32 Just a trick I thought of for aligning two pieces of metal for welding. You can use a strong magnet to hold a piece of metal like that in line with the suraface of the est of the cart by having the magnet attached half way between the two pieces, its great for doing tacs and the results are really good!

I agree, we did have those big red magnets (as seen in the beginning), although with a clamp you don't have to worry about the weld pulling the metal out of square when it cools.

KGN Metal I suppose you could use the magnets to align the metal and then apply the clamps before removing the magnets.

Where'd you get the rubber isolators for the engine mount? I need something just like those for my Hustler 6x6.

These are the same pieces from the original sled.

Yeah, I realized that shortly after I commented. Thanks for the reply.

I asked in an earlier video what type of welder you were using, but I think I hear the gas coming out in this video just moments before you start, so I assume its a MIG?
@KGNMetal7 жыл бұрын
You're right, it's a MIG

Just curious, why mount the engine on the swing arm? Huge unsprung weight and bash the Crap out of the engine!
@KGNMetal5 жыл бұрын
Good question. Ultimately there wasn't any room to put it elsewhere. Luckily, the engine itself only weights about 50 pounds, so between that and being 2-stroke where oil isn't an issue, we thought we'd try it. So far its fine, but ideally you're correct... it would be better on the body somewhere. Though its actually very compact and with the weird exhaust, that was about the only place to put it

can you do a build for your little gokarts
@KGNMetal7 жыл бұрын
Although we don't have plans to do one, Cade has been throwing around the idea of a $100 go-kart build.
