The failure to be able to control the volume on the line input levels (on the device) is a deal breaker, as is the 16 bit restriction. It’s a shame because otherwise it’s got great features. I went for Irig stream pro instead. Thank you for the great review .

If I watch the video, I tried to power my unit from an external source as your video says, and the source will only stay on for about 30 seconds, and then the light was shut off and I do have the switch into the usb battery off mode. And tried both ways. Power light shuts off in about 30 seconds. In addition, if you use that external battery source, where do you plug your iPhone in do you use the input output on the right side of the unit when you use that it doesn’t work and your end up recording off of the iPhone microphone

Hello, I have this device, thinking that it would be very useful to me because of its ease of use and in view of the positive opinions on the internet concerning this machine, I finally bought it, only after having made my recordings and checking my settings, I always end up with a really bad sound with a sort of veiled volume effect! I'm recording from my Samsung galaxy tablet via Android, yet it's specified that it takes this system into account... So I don't really understand how to solve this poor sound problem! Unfortunately you only get a stereo track (or two mono depending on how you set it up inside the recording software). It really is a “Mixer” type interface.

MIDI i/o would be the cherry on the cake and make this one of the best iOS interfaces available (build quality aside, which looks pretty shoddy. Not at all Pro). I’m not sure if there is an iOS interface that has MIDI in addition to the audio i/o. It tends to be one or the other.

Great video! Question: if I connect my iPad Pro through usb and want to use my iPhone to record or stream via the smart phone connector and other gear connected to the other ports, I can record the audio from everything EXCEPT my iPad to my iPhone. But I can hear music from my iPad through the headphones just fine. The only way to resolve this is to turn loop back mode on which is okay for playing iPad beats but if I want to say live loop (which I really do want to), the loop back functionality seems to record “everything” including what’s being played on the current loop. I must resolve this. There has to be a way. Any tips?!

Checked out your review of this first…and it was all I needed. :-) Perfect amount of detail and depth, presented clearly and concisely - thanks! :-) The only suggestion I‘d like to make for future reviews is leaving out or greatly shortening the (sort of lengthy) sound samples of thumping music - samples that in this case seemed to demonstrate nothing in particular about the unit being reviewed. The only exception to that was the sound sample showing off the portable speaker you were using. I found the audio samples too loud in my AirPods as compared with the spoken parts of the video. Just sayin‘. ;-) Anyhow, thanks for the helpful input! I‘m probably going to get one of these for vocals and (acoustic) guitar, either with the guitar mic’d or via pickup/cable, all going into my iPhone or iPad. Should be a great way to record stuff easily, especially for KZbin - also thanks to the headphone monitoring. Come to think of it, one missing feature on this is Bluetooth monitoring using AirPods. That would have made it perfect.

thx! QUESTION: is it possible to use an extension cable (f.e. male micro usb to female micro usb) to connect the delivered "micro-to-lightning-cable" to an iphone? REASON: if the iphone (which recs. video too) is a little far away, it would make sense to have the go mixer pro near on stage. EXAMPLE BAND VIDEO: the video-recording iphone which has to be connected trough lightning with the micro usb port, will be let's say 5 meters away. so it would be great to have the central unit (which is the go:mixer) on stage and the connection to the video-recording iphone done by a long micro-usb extension cable. or do you have another solution? thx.

Hey Jakob, thanks for another insightful video! I noticed around the 9:30 timestamp that you used a non-Apple USB-C hub. I saw your older videos advising against non-Apple USB adapters - did you find some exceptions?
@JakobHaq3 жыл бұрын
Ah, there’s a misconception that hubs or and/or USB pheripherals need some sort of certification when it comes to USB-C and Apple products. They do not. Certification only applies for Lightning fitted iDevices (iPhones and iPads). In those latter cases, USB peripherals and adapters need to be MFi certified. . So you could use almost any type of USB stuff with your IDevice if it’s fitted with USB-C. Stuff rated for MacBooks are usually very good, which is what I’m using.

Nice to see Roland continue this practice. Would the split-screen loopback function work with my 2020 iPad pro?
@JakobHaq3 жыл бұрын
The split screen footage is of a session where I’ve compiled two sessions I recorded. So it only looks like that after you’ve added the footage together. It doesn’t happen in real-time. You record performances one by one and then the apps basically lets you edit them together. The loop back function is part of the mixer itself so it works with any smart tablet or smartphone.
@jimshannononsounds3 жыл бұрын
@@JakobHaq Thanks, Jakob. I didn't think the Go mixer did that natively. Lots of audio interfaces don't offer loopback. It's not on my Focusrite 2nd Gen 2i4.
