Just found this app and it is craaazy how inexpensive it is for what it does! Really commendable work by the devs. I’ve been looking for a straightforward app to randomize sequences and got it based on that, only finding this vid afterwards. My only complaint is that randomize changes the entire pattern. I like seeing the actual randomization on the sequencer but if you only want to randomize for one or two cycles you can’t really do that. A small complaint but something that would make this perfect for me since I am looking at is as a live tool (driving an external synth, not drums). Still, it’s a great app.

So I have an original Mono/Poly, and I just purchased iMono/Poly. I am controlling it from a Korg Nautilus. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make a simple vibrato on the joystick(modwheel). On the actually Mono/Poly its pretty simple, switch mg 1 to pitch, set your speed and amount and away you go. How do you do it with this?????

I’m currently struggling with the terrible acoustics of a box room with bare walls, floor and ceiling. I love this video because it reminds me of myself when I get that little voice in my head saying go on, you can do it! The same voice that gets me thinking about colours and aesthetics right up to the moment when I am confronted by total failure.

Great video Jakob - really enjoyed it! I can relate so much to your motivations and your journey. I DIY'd my first modular synth back in the 70's based on magazine and newsletter articles. I still have some original CEM chips, OTA's in metal cans, MC1495 multipliers etc. Some of those old modules still work. I got hooked on modular again after trying VCVRack. Now have over 70 modules and 21U of rack, 100% DIY, ~20% designed by me. I don't have an accurate cost but its north of $7000 Cdn. DIY is not necessarily cheap but its so rewarding to make your own stuff. I don't end up making much music but I love building things and playing with sound. Rock on brother!

Great video content, I have watched a lot of your AUM videos, very helpful It there a way to midi program , program changes on a synth with AUM Most synths do automatically let you program change in standalone I just downloaded Waldorf Microwave 1 for the iPad , but can’t see how to program change in the app, is this possible in AUM

I’ve watched this excellent video several times, and it’s great. Do you have a video on MIDI channel changes in AUM? I’ve set up a session with AUM Channel 1 being controlled by MIDI Channel 1, and AUM Channel 2 (different audio unit) controlled by MIDI Channel 2, but sometimes the channels change unexpectedly, so that all AUM channels are now accepting only MIDI Ch 1 or they are all accepting only MIDI Ch 2. Any help?? Thanks!

Ahhh yeah splitting the audio is way better. When I output to my PO33 KO. The beautiful audio of the OP-1 now has to go through the Pocket Operqtor, and it kindo degrades the sound.

Thank you for your very informative videos, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my interest in finding a suitable replacement for the Roland Sound Canvas iOS app. As many of you know, Roland Sound Canvas for iOS was a software synthesizer that emulates the highly popular GS format sound source, along with a built-in SMF player for playing Standard MIDI Files. The built-in SMF (Standard MIDI File) player features a variety of playback options, such as key and tempo changes, “Loop” mode for repeating a specific part of the song, and “Song List Play” for continuous playback of various songs in sequence, and a Jukebox playlist With 1,600 high-quality sounds plus 63 drum sets onboard, it is perfect for MIDI data playback. Additionally, the app offers two types of graphical user interfaces: the “Sound Canvas skin” for music data creation and the “Player skin” for practicing with instruments or karaoke applications. It also includes built-in Reverb, Chorus, Delay, 2-band EQ, and 64 types of insertion effects. Given the app's extensive features and its importance to many users, I believe it is crucial to find a replacement that can offer similar functionalities and quality. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations or suggestions from the community for alternative apps that can serve as a suitable replacement for the Roland Sound Canvas iOS app. Thank you for your time and assistance. Best regards, Leon Saint James

Excellent video. Well thought out and brilliantly explained. Ever since I heard the synth portion of Emerson Lake & Palmer's song "Lucky Man" back in the early 70's, I was hooked on making noises. It wasn't till several years ago that I got into Modular. Can't play any instruments, but love to make noise. I also had to laugh when you mentioned O.C.D., I'm Obsessive Compulsive and a bit of a perfectionist, and yes, all the front panels of my modules in the rack are black.

What is the number of max channels?
@JakobHaq22 күн бұрын
Technically infinite. What actually sets the limit of a project is the hardware capabilities of the iOS device, together with the amount of and type of AUv3 plugins you’re running inside a project.

@JakobHaq I'm using m1 iPad, iPhone13 PM & iPhone6SPlus all for MIDI Guitar (controller) for live, not recording. The 6SPlus is last version to have a headphone jack. I need to have multiple faders active with various sounds like organs, pianos, strings, brass, pads & others used on the fly for live performing.

@@JakobHaq So I can add & subtract sounds quickly using the iOS faders while playing live.

Hmmm . . . This looks like it could be a cool way to take loops from Klevgrand Skaka and play/improvise dynamically with them. Also, looks like the Amen Break Generator plugin has had some updates in the year since this video was made. Now has inter-app audio and you can import your own loops.

Inspiring video! I am nearing completion of my first eurorack case, and there's a lot of things you mentioned about your planning and process I really resonated with. The goal for my case is that when all is said and done, I will have paid less than the ModularGrid estimated price, including the case I made for it and the cables! While DIY is not an option for my particular rack plan (well, besides the case as already mentioned), I have been searching the web for great used deals (the entire genesis of this plan came from scoring a great Facebook Marketplace find). I have two more modules left to acquire, and as I have been keeping track of how much I've paid for it thus far, I am well on track to succeed on my price goal! Once I'm done I should make a video about my plan and process, some points will be similar to yours though I have a few other thoughts I think don't get mentioned enough. Excited to see where the MOOdular goes!

Very much enjoy your iOS music app tutorials. Could I ask a quick question? If I actually want to extract the best quality audio is the head phone jack digital to analog converter the best I can do? Or do you use some sort of audio interface?appreciate your advice

I found this channel when I was first learning about synthesis, about 5 years ago, and wanted to mess around with synths on an iPad. I’ve since shied away from the whole iOS thing in favor of DAWs, VSTs and recently Eurorack (after playing with VCV Rack for years). Glad to be back here (I never really left) and excited to follow your next steps into modular as I continue to learn from you! I don’t know if you plan to start a second channel for the moo moo stuff, but I’m here for it. 🐄
