I'm currently looking for cool synths that aren't very DSP-intensive (I'm going to do an Aum project around Monkey🐒 with a slightly obsolete iPad mini4). Unique is perfect for that, full of very interesting sounds and I can open several of them on my old iPad. 🤘🏼🔥 Thank you very much for all your good tips

I was looking for a reverb for a live looping setup (using loopy pro) and after trying a few and being a bit disappointed, bought it on the strength of this video and a few other things, and have really enjoyed cascade. it's the paid one I'm keeping (I'm also using room reverb) :) thanks for the walkthrough!

I haven't come across anything more unique than the Figure's Arpeggiator. Unfortunately, the app is old. If anyone knows of a newer app that can make a arp like this, I'd be very happy to hear back. 😊

I'm using this primarily to learn about synthesis on the couch so I don't have to be in the studio messing up my patches on my hardware, but it also sounds so good that it could easily be at the center of any production. I'd love to see the option for custom skins so we can make each module look like it came from somewhere else, much like a hardware rack. I want to make mine look like a Soviet spaceship. Spootnik. Bleep bloop good. Da.

These are the only kind of iPad apps I care about. My partner handed-me-down her 2020 iPad since my 2016 won't hold a charge anymore, and I found myself re-evaluating my whole use case for the iPad. I only got into synths and production in 2016, so I've learned a LOT since I got the first one. For me, what is unique and almost irreplaceable in iPad music production is that it has a good touch UI that creates unique editing and performance capabilities. Stuff like Beatsurfing, Vosis and Samplr just can't really exist in the same way in any other platform. Sure there are plenty of great and super cheap synths, drum machines etc for iOS, but I have hardware that covers those things better, since tweaking multiple knobs/faders/keys at once is easier than the same on a touch UI. But swiping to make beats or morph timbres by interacting with a visual synth - with full control as a performer - that's something you just can't do in any other platform or ecosystem.

Nah. Ported monitors are trash for mixing. They may sound more pleasing to listen to, but introduce too many inaccuracies to be good for creating balanced mixes without having to mentally or otherwise calibrate them over time. Closed back monitors like NS10s or the CLA clones are far better for creating mixes that translate without fancy software or having to learn your monitors. If you just need something expensive to impress clients then ok, but then the iLouds aren't that either.

If you're still unsure after viewing the video, just read the comments guys! I've never seen this many ultra positive comments in a long long time! But, I'm sure you've bought this app already because Bram bos and Jakob's apps are ass kicking pieces of software!

Really been great so far! And this video has helped me understand synthesis on a new level :) My only gripe so far: If I close the app without saving a patch it wipes all my work. Not a huge issue just have to remember to save, its one of the nice quality of life features that are in apps like Koala that make me love them even more. Thanks for your hard work

Just bought and tried it. Congrats! You've truly created a masterpiece this time! Best app in ages! Hope to see more modular experimentation in future! Simply love it!!!!
This is a really solid app. What a great name it has for a start. The interface design is very good indeed. I like the really subtle blue highlights on the underneath of the knobs. . Bram Bos make great apps. I think this is their best yet. Well done Jakob! How comes Buchla haven't done an IOS app yet huh it would be ideal for a touch screen

@brambos93702 күн бұрын
The file size is as tiny as any app could possibly be. Only 8,7Mb for a fully universal app. Could you please explain why you say it’s absurd?

Amazing collaboration and I’m really loving the plugin so far. It’s a potential classic in my eyes! My only request is midi support in standalone mode. I use my iPad in tandem with hardware samplers and synths often so I use standalone apps with midi controllers quite a bit. Would be a super useful feature for me, and I’m sure others.

the missing midi in the standalone version is the only real flaw i agree. i sent an email to bram bos about that already, so let’s see…

Really nice app, congratulations! A few suggestions if you like to make it even cooler, the tuning knows for the oscillators have a dent at one, which is great if you want one but really annoying if you want 1.01 or something similar. Also it would be wonderful to get midi out from the unique sequencer, both for controlling other things and for recording / editing the melodies it produces.
@JakobHaq11 күн бұрын
Tap/hold on a control and drag the finger further away from the control to get a finer more sensitive control. Now you should be able to get those finer values. This technique is used in a multitude of music apps on iOS and is very easy to miss.
