I have the River 600 with the extra MAX battery option. I can run my fridge for more than 8 hours during a power failure. Almost infinitely if I pluggin 200 Watts of Monocrystalline solar panels, and charge while I drain power. I like the fact that with a solar generator you can use the unit while charging it back with solar panels at the same time, and as long as you are not pulling more than what you're putting in, the solar generator can power whatever you've got plugged into it for a much longer period, as if you had double the battery power in the box.

I almost got the River Pro with extra battery based on the WH alone....but when I thought about real world use I opted for the Mini at the last minute. The main reason Ecoflows are attractive is the fast recharge rate. I could imagine going into a restaurant, library, or gym with the mini but don't think it would be cool to come in with 2 battery banks with big wire attached. Plus you lose the charge speed when dealing with the Pro and extra battry....3 hr charge time is to long when you're trying to look for a quick charge in public spaces. Now if the extra battery could be charged separately from the Pro then this unit combo would rock.

Sure, the Lifepo4 may last up to 3X longer but the EB70 is noisier and has some irritating quirks. If I were really going to live off solar electricity I would hook up a bunch of lifepo4 cells, charge controllers, and a huge inverter. These premade solutions are just more money for convenience sake

My observations from the Delta Pro review video I watched: The Delta Pro is very heavy and probably needs two people to lift it into a car. The smaller Eco River Pro is lighter, smaller and easier to carry and the additional battery is also light to carry as well. My thoughts would be to buy x 2 EF River Pro power stations so you can have the extended time or even use both at same time as you have sockets/connections on both. There is not that much cost difference between the extra battery and the main power station. Also whilst you're solar charging one power station up you have the use of the other one. Just thinking off the top of my head.

How many hours will it power 200 Watts?
@MicMaine
@MicMaine 2 жыл бұрын
So using the Pro with the extra battery and two 110watt solar panels running parallel should barely make a dent in this thing's capacity over the course of 10 hours if it's a fairly sunny day, right? I'm looking for something to run my laptop while working and two monitors, plus the router and keep my cell charged. They seem to consume about 170-200 watts, so I want the ecoflow to be basically a buffer for extra juice when sunlight isn't optimal and maybe some usage in the evening (I like to keep crypto charts up).
@innerbarkoutdoors
@innerbarkoutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
You'd want to go with the Delta most likely, nearly double the capacity as the pro and twice the solar input capabilities.

Great video! Can you tell me the brand and model of your refrigerator? Have you tried the new EcoFlow River Max Plus? It has 720 watts. 360 added to a 360 extra battery. Unlike the 720w Pro, the new models could possibly be daisy chained, maximum of two. But Ecoflow support agents differ in opinion as to whether the new Plus models could be daisy chained. Currently awaiting a response from their next level up team. Thanks

Want to like this. I have the river max and thought this would give me extra battery life. I wondered why the price wasn't much different between the Max plus and the river pro. It is because it is even less efficient than the river max and only has an extr 100wh of usable battery. That why they are only 50-100 different in price. I think the extra battery is kind of useless. You don't get any extra power and it takes it twice the space. You might as well by two units for basically the same price and then you have twice as many inputs.
@SolGuy42

That is something to consider. Having added a external fuel supply to a Honda eu2000, I’d say you want something that can power stuff while you sleep. 8 hours or so…
@vincekhoo3278
@vincekhoo3278 2 жыл бұрын
The additional battery will give u more watt hours to power a single appliance. For example it can power your fridge for twice as long. Having 2 units of river pro can do the same but u need to unplug from one unit and plug into another. So really depends on the use case. But I do agree that buying 2 units of the river pro definitely gives more flexibility.
@grantlauinger8663
@grantlauinger8663 2 жыл бұрын
I understand the extra watt hours, I just think it is a bad design. I have one the original River Max. The battery pack attaches to the bottom and it came with a cord to hook up two separate unites like this. Unfortunately, they quickly changed that ability so that feature is no longer available. That would be more useful than having an extra battery pack the same size as the unit itself. These are also not very efficient. I believe in the low 70%, so for those 1400wh you get something closer to 1000wh. The River Max can power my camper fridge for 10-12 hrs in mild conditions down to about 35%, then in 1 hour it will drain the rest. Some things to consider. I think the extra computer tech in these drain a lot of battery.

Depending on the size, but I'm not familiar with jackery panels. I did try hooking up a single large residential panel to this and it did not want to play with it( the panel was intentionally oversized for the generator). No damage occurred tho. Your milage may vary.

As long as you don't Over Panel in Watts, your equipment won't be damaged. A rule of thumb is that all rated panels are not there true values like the gigabytes of storage devices so keep your solar charging right at or close to 200 Watts.

Hello, I have got the River Pro a moth ago but I am currently facing a problem that it discharges much sooner that it says at the beginning on the display. e.g. I let run from midnight with stable output of 13 wats and remaining time was 20 hrs with 65% capacity. When I checked at 7am it was at less than 10% of its capacity instead expected around 40% The capacity is saing 720Wh. Cant get it. 2nd case wit stable output 97W it says that remaining time is 2,5hr which would mean remaining capa is close to 250 Wh. So 100% would be something equal to 350w in 3,5 hours. That also makes no sense to guaranteed capacity 720WH for River Pro. Q: Have you test if really remining time will approach to display info?

After reading many reviews and watching a lot of videos, I chose this option for my first backup power station. kzbin.infoUgkxHypYDKHAN93Lp2RQpfvU_ksc70wJ00pt I was between this and a larger option that could power a wider range of items, but the price/size/capacity blend seemed right for this unit. Hasn't gotten a ton of use yet, but the build quality is solid and it charges fine via the Rockpals solar panel I purchased to pair with it. One thing to note is that the screen is optimized for a top down viewing angle, which makes sense, but this means it washes out at other angles - especially low angles. Not a huge deal, but perhaps a better option for the display could be used to provide wider viewing angles.

I bought one of these and was a bit disappointed in it's 12V output capabilities. It will not operate my 120W 12V popout slide. It drops the voltage to a point the motor stops. I have 2 other smaller power supplies that work the slide without fail. I tried everything and it just trips the motor breaker. Great for 110V but again, at high wattage draw, it drops voltage to accommodate which can be harmful, especially to sensitive equipment.

I have been told if you only charge it to 80% it will last much longer, correct? If so then it is a 500 watt charger at best? Not including where it stops itself. I would think that it will automatically stop discharging or would one want to stop using it at 30% to best extend life? In reading the manual it says if you to store it do so at 30-50%. Kind of defeats the purpose of using it in an emergency. That would mean if it stops discharging at 10-20% and store at 30-50% that would give you maybe 200 watts?

The reading you are seeing as far as watts / amps draw is W/O the compressor running. You need to not tell people that this will run a refrigerator. It also seems that you don't know about the "X-Boost Output"
