Hitting something with a whip has nothing to do with love. Its about winning. Take the stick off them they have reigns to steer them. Whips are used to encourage them they say, yeah just like kids were back in the day.

@@galdessa1 The whips they use now are mainly used for the noise. To keep there mind on the job and to concentrate. I have seen on a few occasions where they demonstrate the whip hitting a person and doesn't hurt them. Never mind an animal that has a pain threshold far greater than ours.

@@galdessa1 there definitely is abuse in racing as it is in almost anything people do with and/or to animals. the whip is not the problem though. losing the whip would not make a big difference and using the whip does not hurt the horses too much. and i am sure many of the people involved in racing really do love horses. there's a huge discrepancy involved as is in so many things we do. do you love animals? do you eat meat, consume dairy products, wear leather shoes...?

Fantastic experience riding the race with Brony Frost....was great to be able to judge the strides from a jockey's point of view. Love the way she talks to him on the way round encouraging and praising him. The race experience was surprsingly quiet even when the other horses passed her. Also love the way she was not hard on him and cares for the horse. Lost nothing in defeat and hopefully with have many more great days. Am a huge fan of Brony's....believe she wins so many races by riding from the front and up with the pace.

This video should get so many views. Sometimes, the language on these is quite fruity, but Bryony knows him so well; she didn't overdo it, but I don't think he stayed the extended 3m 2f. Bryony rode him perfectly. The 3 Irish horses came by, having a right tussle. Native River just outstayed him. They should definitely aim Frodon for the King George again. A fine run.

Some of these comments make me laugh. Bryony and frodon is an amazing partnership that hasn't anything to prove to anyone. I thought after the month racing has had this was a lovely thing to see. The obvious affection bryony has for frodon is there for all to see. Those who frown on her for not getting the result. Did you not see how superior the Irish horses were all week. The ease in which they moved up to the lead In the final couple of furlongs showed the difference im class on the day. Rachel Blackmore is an incredible jockey but look at the horses she had underneath her. Its a bit like Lewis driving the Mercedes. Both women are brilliant for the sport, my opinion

great to watch that partnership between them both .. some fantastic jumping - well done you both :) being passed and looking after the horse like that whilst leading and jumping most of the way - by 3 horses proper stayers .. ones a 2 x gold cup winner - the other rsa second who idles all day and a 7 yr old with and impressive 2.4 / 2.5 mile 1st and 3rd at the festival - all great horses. There were a few that just couldn't deal with that pace

Love Frodon!! Well done it was a great effort , galloped all the way to the line given a great ride by a Top Jockey. This headcam view gives a great perspective and it shows what a good jumper he is! .. I think he will still win one or more top races yet. (A friend has just recommended this clip to me, glad he did!)

Frodon and Bryony Frost definitely my two favourites in racing at the moment and have been since they started out! Not been drawn to a horse so much since Bestmate. Frodon ran an absolute stormer of a race and im glad that the team give him his chance, Bryony was absolutely brilliant on him to! Looking forward to next time they are out :-)

I could watch this over and over. Great camera work.1:25 wow. I think Frodons run with great credit here. Apart from 2 short ones he didnt really make any mistakes. He wasnt wobbling all over the place the last 2 jumps, just he didnt quite have that last gear like the others did. 1 more season in him hopefully. Would like to see him get another G1. Dont think it will be easy though. King George might come up soft or a strong field and Allaho will probably have a say in next years Ryanair. Well done Frodon and Bryony.

It is said by the experts that Frodon doesn't get the Gold Cup distance, yet Native River only beat a short distance for fourth. The 3 Irish horses are better stayers. Frodon would win many a race over 3-miles plus, though not the Gold Cup, sadly.
