I retired from the police over 20 years ago. I saw where it was heading and how being poitically correct over ruled law and proceedure training. I dont recognise the organisation i was once so proud to be a part of. Its beyond recognition and not fit for purpose.

I am a woman and I resent that special terms must be coined for women. If I had made a career in the police, I would have been PROUD to be called a policeman. I am chairman of an organisation and I resent being called a chairwoman. It is nauseatingly patronising. Hold up. We’re paying for this absolute bollox. Hilarious that they think this matters….deluded beyond belief I’m absolutely certain that they haven’t done their domestic abuse training. For men or women. 38 years ago they let my abuser out of the cells after he kicked his pregnant girlfriend (me) down the stairs. Let him out after 3 hours. Oh and I wanted to press charges. They ignored and belittled me. A Co worker recently was being abused. They blamed her, said what had she ‘done’ to make him angry, said ‘oh kiss and make up’ and finally did nothing when he breached his condition of not being anywhere near her, so he could put her in hospital ..again. When two women are killed every week through domestic violence, and men who are abused feel they can’t speak up, knowing that they’ve done their alphabet training makes us survivors thank god for domestic abuse charities and women’s aid. They saved my life. The police didn’t and still wouldn’t.
