The Gouch and Bambi remake are two of my favorite SNL spoofs in recent times. Love those two. The Guy Smiley part & the Burt and Ernie part slays me. US crime rates reached a plateau in the mid-70s and began to decline in the early 90s; it is only now that crime rates are returning to the same level as when Sesame Street started (1969). So it could parallel the real world very easily. If they made it with similar characters to the SNL parody then it would be an instant classic. Unfortunately with it being a children's TV show and Sesame Workshop having all the intellectual property rights, someone will have to do a "WonkaPiercer" i.e. an adaptation that is only realised as such well after release and has plausible deniability.
