Was in North Goa (Arambol, Ashvem and Morjim) with friends and family last week. Compared to last 15 yrs, crowd is nothing. Issue is on both sides, prices are exorbitant and people are spending less. Moreover felt zero customer service for customers who spend good amount!!!

I visited Kerala in Nov 24. My experience Kerala is safe for tourists. Hotel stay, food and transportation prices are reasonable.

Agonda beach is less than half of usual crowd even on 30th December!! How can taxi guys charge Rs 400 to 500 per kilometer? Tourists are not fools to get cheated. Goa govt has to fix this issue immediately to help Goa and Goan people.

My cab & bike guyz asked way way more than what you have quoted.. precisely one of the reasons I cut short my trip, wasn’t viable cost wise .

Hotel prices have skyrocketed and only Airbnb is something worth now for a family. Luckily, we went in car so don't know the CAB issue. All effluent Indians are now choosing Thailand Sri Lanka as it gives them tag of international trip. Food Prices are also very high in GOA. Fat fish charges bomb nowadays. Goa will always attract tourist but only from domestic towns and not from Cities and International ones. People come GOA for parties and Booze but if govt put rein on that then what is so special in GOA are there are 100s of good beaches in India so its not just beech.

Yes things have changed and the changes will have a serious negative impact on Goan tourism. Fault lies everywhere be it Domestic tourist ( who many a times dont know how to behave ), Vendors/taxi drivers who are looking at only short time gains and then cry when the flow of tourist reduces , govt agencies who forget that a stich in time saves 9, and also the locals who are tired of disrespectful tourist ( Domestic & foreign) along with the fact that tourist ends up causing inconvenience to locals like high prices, traffic jams , scant clothing in public places away from beaches etc . I feel that things would have to detoriate even further and possibly reach a point of no return before concerned stakeholder realise that things needs to be improved, will that be too late and too little only time would tell.

Besides the Taxi/Auto service which is run like a mafia and is a downright robbery,I have never had a problem with the locals.I do however feel that Goans had begun to take tourists for granted and had even begun to blame tourists alone for anything that was negative.

@@ChidiyaSethi Agree that’s why the sad season, it won’t be able to sustain if this attitude persists.. the sooner they realise they run on tourism the better, the attitude is very lazy, currently they have funds with them that was made over all these years, some of them mentioned even if there is no business next year they are fine..

Safety was always an issue in Goan beaches but the only thing is during peak of Goa's prominence it was never came to prime time that much. Offcourse it doesnt mean other beaches in the world are safe, but atleast Cat calling is something very unique to Mainland South Asia
