Goal Zero Guide 10 Plus Solar Kit Field Review
In this video I showcase the Guide 10 Plus Solar Kit by Goal Zero. This item would make a great addition to your preparedness kit allowing you to keep your mobile devices charged in the event of a emergency. Charge AA/AAA batteries from the sun or any USB port, then power your phone, MP3, GPS, or perk up your tablet in a pinch.

I just picked one up from REI. The 12 volt adapter is a great feature. It is compatible with the accessories of my Midland walkie talkies. I can charge them from the base. Haven't used it yet because I just got it yesterday but the uses are endless. The reviews are great and the kid checking me out at REI has one and couldn't say enough about it ( he was very excited for me lol). All of which confirms my purchase! Great review!

Yep; straight forward review. You convinced me in about 4 minutes. Need this when you're out there - for uhf/vhf radios, phones, lights, etc...no brainer. It's $160 here (North of America), but money well spent, I am guessing. Thanks for the review!

the electrical triangle allows you to know to divide volts by watts to get ampere output. if I heard correctly the amps work out to be about 1.2 amps

Here in 2023 but bought ours years ago from Costco. Anyway incase you check in with this channel, what is the best way to store the 4 AA recharge batteries that come with the pack, from decomposing? Ok to store in that recharge case, & then in a cool area? Thanks!

If using with the solar panel, does the panel allow it to keep a continuous charge flowing? I need a power bank for cross country paragliding, and the foldable design for the panel allows me to strap it to my harness and plug into the power bank. One app I use called ‘Flyskyhy’ chews my iPhone 6+ in around 90 minutes. It is a great app that uses satellite navigation to track my flight path, altitude, climb and sink rate, it’s basically about four of five different flying devices in one app, however, the downside is that as mentioned, chews my battery! Any advice from anyone who uses this device with the solar panel? Cheers, any advice much appreciated 👍🏻

Can you use lithium rechargeable batteries with it instead of the batteries it comes with? I know lithium batteries have higher voltage usually but I think it should still charge them.

I tried the same thing on the newer 7 watt Goal Zero solar panel on my Motorola Turbo 2. In cloudy skies the charging was too weak to charge the phone even when I turned it off, but in direct sunlight I got 1% battery every few minutes. It might be better to charge the battery pack first since it doesn't care about the charging rate, and then use the battery pack to charge your phone.
