I listened to Big Sam's interview and I didn't think he came off as too outlandish. I think he was commenting more on his experience as a coach. Allardyce took Bolton from nothing in the early 2000s and used some advanced analytics/backroom staff to make a really decent side. Now he may not be above their level, but I don't have a problem with him considering himself to be a top coach. You have to back yourself in the end.

Eh. I'd argue Messi is the true GOAT. Even if not, their legacies are equal in which case Messi edges it as he doesn't have the ego to go with it.
