What I do: after each training I wear my gloves in the shower. I put them away in my bag and put my bag out of the sunlight. Before each training/match wet the gloves keep them flexible. This will keep them good for a long time. *Never* 1) try to dry gloves on a radiator 2) keep with dry gloves (they will rip faster) 3) put them in the washing machine

As a current grassroots goalkeeper/ I have played higher levels. I would totally recommend the mega grip formula. I've been using it since it's released and 100% effective for me. Although I do find in damp or wet conditions it does need extra sprays during a game followed by a pat dry. I use this product in all my games and have one of the best records for clean sheets in my precious year

I've been using Keeper Balm for years. You need to put it on after the gloves have been cleaned and let them sit for a day or so. The balm really conditions the gloves and restores the grip. I would not recommend putting it on a few mins. before a game.

Unfortunately, as some have alluded to previously, the quality of the glove makes a massive difference. Additionally, the quality of the technique makes a difference too. For this to have had any worth as a test, then you needed a ball serve machine, to reduce variability in the delivery; identical gloves from the same manufacturing batch; identical air speed, pressure and humidity. Personally, I highly recommend Glove Glu Mega Grip. My lad uses it and in combination with Uhlsport Absolut Grip+ Bionik + gloves it is superb. When his gloves were new and they were sprayed, he found a little difficulty when kicking from his hands in releasing the ball. Glove Glue really makes a difference in muddy conditions. Glove maintenance is also important. Washing your gloves after every use using a proprietary brand glove wash is vital. This "re-charges" the grip and conditions the latex. Storage is also important. Don't store your gloves near any source of heat and if you buy a decent pair of gloves (£80 upwards) store them in the sleeve they came in. Lastly, as others have stated, practice using the "W" and practice absorbing the impact by pulling your arms into you once you've made contact with the ball. Practice, practice, practice!

With the latex gloves he just let the ball trough it wasn’t the latex it was him. Also it doesn’t matter what you put on your gloves a real goal keeper can catch the hardest balls with out anything sticky on their gloves. I’m a goalie and I don’t use anything like that because I personally don’t need it. I’m 14 and I get pretty hard shots and I have really old gloves. I’m on an ecnl team for u15

Yes the glove glue and keeper balm is illegal. In any real game u will receive a red card and will shortly be kicked off the field.

Excluding the fact that those gloves are at most 25 euro, they wouldn’t be worn in a match scenario(unless its like a U8 match..) There are many gloves that don’t need this artificial “better grip” which only reduces durability.. Adidas ACE Transition Uhlsport Eliminator SuperGrip One Glove Co. Flux Nike Vapor 3 Although I’m a more negative cut and the the Adidas and One Glove are my go to companies, but I love the Eliminators Hate the Vapor 3s because their fit is just not for me.. Give them a nice pre-wash, and they will perform.. If you want really good gloves for relatively cheap prices, The One Glove Co. have very good latex, and many cuts and styles to suit anyone, I recommend checking them out if you want decent gloves to not kill the budget... I generally pre-buy 10-15 pairs of Adidas ACE Trans before next season starts, as those are my main gloves Just to add... if you want to aid your catching, relating to negative cut gloves, just buy them right onto your hand size, I personally should use 9.5 but I use the 9 as it gives me a much better feel for the ball. OFC-it’s all personal preference after all FYI- been keeping since I was 5
