Pity you missed the Sierra de San Pedro Martir National Park. Not many people visit and the solitude is delightful with astonishing views. I amazed myself by spotting a California Condor. I guess you don’t miss the Canada while you are in the Baja.

Living in southern California for 61 years. Love travel in Mexico. That being said many bad encounters occur. Glad to see you were safe. God bless. my relatives drove to el Salvador yearly always carried mordida pay off money. Bad cops and bandits.

Hey man love the vids! Have watched all of them. Just wanted to throw a thought out there if you care at all. Your video quality is so good, that I think your mic quality takes away from it just a little. I know you’re just starting this channel, but I’m a big fan so far. I would recommend a nice portable condenser microphone like the Audia technica at2020. It’s an XLR mic that will require phantom power, but you could pair it with the shure X2U adapter which is super small and will get the job done. This setup will give you extremely good voiceovers. All together it’s $180 on Amazon, but will really take your videos to the next level. Like I said, love the channel and I will be watching regardless. Goodluck!
@goaloneTV

Hey I totally agree, getting a clean voiceover has been a battle. I'm using a rode wireless go 2 and while it usually sounds alright through the camera I find with the laptop recording software if gets a bit muddled. With that said, the voiceover on these videos is heavily processed. With this video especially I couldn't get a day without howling winds so I was hiding in my truck sweating to death trying to get a decent voice over done, probably around 3-5 takes for every decent recording I could use and then still have to filter out the winds noise in the back and try to account for everything rattling. Finding anything here, let alone a microphone is fairly difficult. Cost of imported goods in mexico is high and I'm having trouble finding what I need. I'll try and improve the sound quality as best as I can but I agree it's the limiting factor so far in many ways. Thanks for your support so far!

That you for sharing your great adventures. You're doing great no matter what is thrown at you. A question, does your vehicle burn the ULSD diesel? I would like to hit the Baja but have a modern 2021 diesel engine and have heard as you get further south the diesel is not the 15 ppm needed for the newer engines. Cheers and continued fun times.
@goaloneTV
@goaloneTV 2 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm well this rig is '94 and seems to run indifferently. I read mexico imports most diesel from the US and as such meets modern day requirements. If anything, the amount of modern RV's and Diesels trucks is some form of proof...

@goaloneTV
@goaloneTV 2 жыл бұрын
Nope it hasn't, despite the truck being fully submerged and hydrolocked in a river. Winched out and cranked water out with no glow plugs and it's been like new ever since. Did kill a window motor though

@@goaloneTV LOL, I wonder if it has been replaced or repaired before. I had my alternator go out and about a week after I replaced the Alt, the ecu shorted out causing no fuel. It is not a matter of "if" but when on these rigs. If you get any goofy electrical stuff related to engine or no fuel/no start its a good chance your ECU is crapped out. The capacitors leak due to age. ECU's for the KZJ's are NLA from Toyota and can sometimes be found used for alot of money. Rebuilding is an option hmu if it happens I can put you in touch with a rebuilder I used for mine. Enjoying the content, keep it up!
@goaloneTV
@goaloneTV 2 жыл бұрын
@@WranglermanLevi Yes sir I'm aware of these notorious ECU's crapping out, big thing on the forums it seems. I do wonder if it may be acting up sometimes just because there's a few odd gremlins but, we shall see. As long as it lasts the trip I'll be happy. And I had the alt rebuilt last year after frying it in mud.

Once you live in car for a while the meaning of needing a shower changes a bit haha. And lots of paper towl. I mean to drive on sand 4x4 is sort of needed, most of the roads everywhere, including Baja, are either paved or just hard pack dirt that 2wd is fine for.
